GC Fuji ORTHO GIC for bands and brackets: bond, cement, protect

A hard and fast decision for bonding: improved Ortho glass ionomers.

Fast and reliable bonding for bands and brackets: The GC Fuji ORTHO product family combines uncomplicated handling and the highest fluoride release with the optimum bond strength and ease of removal required in orthodontics. With the launch of Fuji ORTHO LC PP Automix, Fuji ORTHO BAND LC PP and the Fuji ORTHO Gel Conditioner, GC is expanding its tried and tested range of orthodontic bonding cements. The resin-modified two-component glass ionomer Fuji ORTHO LC is now also available as a Paste Pak Version in a practical Automix system, and Fuji ORTHO BAND PP for bonding orthodontic bands is available for the first time in a light-cured (LC) version – for rapid, gentle and reliable adhesive application.

The new Fuji ORTHO LC PP Automix is a versatile cementing system that greatly simplifies the bonding of orthodontic metallic and ceramic brackets, saves time and always delivers a perfect mixing result. The light-cured glass ionomer, which was previously only available in a powder-liquid or capsule version, is automatically dispensed in individually adjustable but always equal mixing ratios thanks to the new Paste Pak cartridge.

High adhesive strength, even without acid etching and a dry field

Fuji ORTHO LC PP Automix allows optimum dosing and processing but also fast and gentle placement because it requires neither acid etching nor the creation of a dry field – for maximum performance with minimal material consumption and a longer working time of around five minutes.

Fuji ORTHO BAND LC PP was specially developed for bonding metallic bands and orthodontic appliances to enamel. The light-cured LC material now available for the first time is also supplied in the convenient Automix dispenser system as the Paste Pak version. Light curing within just 20 seconds allows controlled application and placement of brackets in any situation – without the invasive and time-consuming acid etching technique. The additional self-curing guarantees complete and stress-free polymerization of the materials under the brackets. Its blue colour makes safe application and identification easier and also aids complete removal of the bonding agent.

Easily dosed and placed – well cemented and protected

Other advantages of the two new Fuji ORTHO system components already clinically proven: their balanced adhesive strength guarantees reliable bonding of bands and brackets and durable anchorage with a film thickness of only 3 µm and even in a moist environment. However, at the same time they are easy to remove – without the risk of enamel fractures. The sustained, regenerable fluoride release from the glass ionomer material further protects the enamel and reduces the risk of white spots forming during treatment.

For increased bond strength, the enamel can additionally be conditioned with the new blue Fuji ORTHO Gel Conditioner (with 20 per cent polyacrylic acid) directly from the syringe. The mild conditioner prepares the surface in just ten seconds for optimum bond strength – without etching and without loss of enamel, as would otherwise be the case with composite cementing materials.

The light-cured Fuji ORTHO LC PP Automix and Fuji ORTHO BAND LC PP are now available in a refill pack of two Paste Pak Automix cartridges (each 13.3 g; 7.2 ml) with orange mixing cannulas (to protect against premature light-curing) and a mixing block. The Fuji ORTHO Gel Conditioner is supplied in syringes with a brush attachment for direct application.
