GATLINBURG INFORMATION 12/7/12
As a SouthIredellHigh School Marching Band tradition, we are traveling again this year to Gatlinburg Tennessee to march in the Festival of Lights televised Christmas parade.
-Cost for trip $55 per person (this includes students and parents and this only includes the bus ride- we will take charter buses) Trip MUST be paid for in FULL by November 20th. You may use fair parking. Balloon rally, Fruit sales and Arby’s book sales money towards this trip.
-This trip will count as a field trip and will not count against absences.
-We are leaving at 7:00am.
- Please be here between 6:30am and 6:45am- the charter buses will be in the school bus parking lot beside A building. You MUST get on the bus that you are assigned- we will sign up for buses in class.
-Bring instrument, Full Marching Band Uniform, black shoes, black gloves, black socks and Santa hat
-You may wear any type of school appropriate clothes during the day. We will change into our uniforms there.
-You will be issued a set of battery powered lights for your instrument. You are responsible for these lights and will return them in the zip lock bag at the end of the parade. You will have to pay to replace any lights that are not return or damaged ($5.00)
-Bring any owed band dues.- all dues must be paid before going on this trip!!
-Bring money for food, attractions and shopping
-All couples MUST sit in the front 3 seats of the bus- no exceptions.
-Bring snacks or buy food in Gatlinburg for the ride home.
-Bring warm clothes: gloves, toboggans, extra layers, it will be VERY COLD
Expected temperature is 25 degrees for the parade.
-Bring rain gear/poncho, in case of a chance of rain
-Bring movies to watch on the bus, PG13, PG or G rated only!!!
-You must stay in a group of 3 or more people at all times!!!!
-All school rules and band rules apply!!!!
-Any student that is in violation of school or band rules will call their parents to come and pick them up IMMEDIATELY and disciplinary action will follow.
-We will return to South sometime after midnight. Please be ready to call parents when we are about 30 minutes from the school.
