GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS BUSTED: 8 STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of two auto-lifters namelyBabu Ahmed r/o Sangam Vihar PS Timarpur, Delhi and Vishnu r/o Jhoroda near Buradi, Delhi, South-East District police have busted a gang of Auto-liftersand recovery of total 8 vehicles 1 Maruti Car, 2 Maruti Vans and 5 M/Cycles stolen from the areas of Police Stations Govind Puri, Seelam Pur, Timarpur, Karawal Nagar and Okhla Ind. Area, New Delhi was effected.

On 8.2.09 due to the increasing calls of auto-thefts in the area and on receipt of a secret information, a police team of ASI Vinod Kumar, Const. Sanjeev Kumar, Const. Balbir, Const. Parveen Kumar led by SI Girjesh Singh, I/C PP O.I.A., Ph-II was constituted under the close supervision of Inspr. B.S. Rana, SHO/O.I.A. The team laid a trap/Nakabandi at Puri Chowk, Phase-II, Okhla Ind. Area, New Delhi and duringthe intense checking of vehicles, the team intercepted one Maruti Car No. DL-4C-F-6174 and apprehended suspects namely Babu Ahamed r/o Sangam Vihar PS Timarpur, New Delhi and Vishnu r/o Jhoroda near Buradi, Delhi. During questioning they neither gave any satisfactory reply nor produced any document. On sustained interrogation, information was developed and this Maruti Car was found to be stolen from the area of PS Govind Puri and 7 other stolen vehicles were recovered on their instance from the area of Sangam Vihar PS Timarpur and parking of Anand Vihar, Delhi. A case vide FIR No.47/2009 dated 8.2.2009 u/s 411/34 IPC, has been registered at P.S. Okhla Industrial Area in this regard.

The suspects were put to sustained interrogation during which it was revealed that one Shahid of Ettawah, UP is a gang leader and they have stolen about 18-20 vehicles from Delhi and they usually sell such stolen vehicles in Ettawah, UP. Efforts are on to apprehend the absconding gang leader Shahid.

CLUELESS MURDER CASE OF JAITPUR SOLVED – FOUR ARRESTED

With the arrest of four persons, the clueless murder case of Ravinder Kumar, age 18 years of South-East Distt. has been solved. Ravinder Kumar was hospitalized in trauma centre with multiple stab injuries where he succumbed to his injuries. On the intervening night of 7/8.2.09 at about 12 midnight, a case FIR No. 26 dated 8.2.09 u/s 302 IPC was registered at PS Jaitpur. The investigation was taken up by the police.

A team led by Inspr. Jagdish Yadav, SHO/Jaitpur comprising of Inspr. Madanpal Bhati, Inspr. Investigation, SI Rajiv Ranjan, SI Dara Singh, HC Shiv Charan and Ct. Ashok Kumar was constituted under the supervision of Sh. V.S. Pundir, ACP/Sarita Vihar.

During investigation, an information was received that the deceased had been taken away in a Tavera Car by 4 persons. It was further revealed that Tavera Car No. Dl-1V-5668, belonging to one Suresh Gautam was used in the crime. The car was recovered and was found to have blood stains on the seats. It was learnt that the victim had an altercation during the day with one Rahul s/o Suresh Gautam as Rahul suspected him to be involved in the kidnapping of his sister Priyanka about a month ago. When Suresh Chand found about a quarrel between his son Rahul and the deceased he alongwith Rahul, Dhiraj and Dinesh @ Dinnawent in their Tavera Car and accosted the victim. They then over powered him where all of them beat him and finally Dhiraj stabbed him. Local intelligence was developed and all the above mentioned accused were arrested. The weapon used for crime as well as blood stained clothes were also recovered.

Suresh Gautam is a 8th pass and working as a MCD Class-IV employee. Rahul s/o Suresh Gautam is a 6th pass and working as car driver. Dinesh s/o Rajesh is 4th pass working with his father in a tent house shop. Dhiraj s/o Dharampal is 8th pass working as a labour. All the above accused do not have any previous criminal record.

TWO WHEELER AUTO LIFTER GANG BUSTED -

SEVEN VEHICLES RECOVERED

South District Police has arrested six auto lifters including receiver of stolen vehicle and seven motorcycles have been recovered at their instance.

ACCUSED ARRESTED ARE:

  1. Naveen @ Saurabh, age 19 years S/o Ramesh R/o 126 Yusuf Sarai, New Delhi.
  2. Deepak @ Truck, age 22 years S/o Sh. Vasudev R/o 126 Yusuf Sarai, New Delhi.
  3. Amit age 19 years S/o Satpal R/o126 Yusuf Sarai, New Delhi.
  4. Uday Vir @ Manoj age 25 years S/o Suraj Pal R/o Vill. Gokul Pur, PO Mangroi, PS Kala Nidholi, Destt. Etta.
  5. Yogesh Bhati, age 22 years S/o Bhopal R/o Vill Guraha PO Manora, PS Kala Nidholi, Destt. Etta.
  6. Umesh Tomar, age 21 years S/o Rishi Pal Tomar R/o Vill and PO Dhoori, PS Pilakhwa, District Ghaziabad.

INCIDENT AND TEAM

On 04.2.09 one Umesh Kumar came at AnsalPlaza and parked his Motorcycle No. DL-7S-8348 under the flyover around 9.00 am. At around 2.40 PM when he completed his job and was coming back to parking, he saw three boys were riding on his bike. He raised alarm and two accused namely Naveen and Deepak were caught red handed by the beat staff present in the area. A case FIR No.33/09 U/s 379/411/34 IPC was registered at PS Defence Colony. Later on the third accused Amit was also arrested. Police remand was sought for all the three accused. On sustained interrogation in the police custody accused disclosed that they along with their gang members had been involved in auto lifting and also revealed the details of other members of their gang who deal in the sale purchase of the stolen bikes.

Accordingly, a team was constituted comprising Inspr. (L&O) Mahender Singh, I/C PP Gulmohar Park SI Sunjay Sharma, SI Arvind, ASI Tulsi Bhadur HC Surender, HC Randhir Cts. Sandeep, Dharmender, Nihal under the close supervision of Sh. Vikram Jeet Singh ACP/ Defence Colony to arrest the other accused. Raids were conducted and three other accused persons namely Uday Vir @ Manoj,Yogesh Bhati and Umesh Tomar were arrested. Total seven bikes including three Pulsars, two Splendors, one Platina and TVS Victor Motorcycle have been recovered on their instance. Master key has also been recovered from their possession which they usually use to steal the bikes.

Amit @ Sonu Chikna, the close aide of Satte and the absconding criminal in GreenPark Shoot Out case, arrested: An automatic english Pistol carried by him on the day of shoot out recovered ALONGwith live cartridges.

With the arrest of Amit @Sonu Chikna, aged 25 years s/o Ishwar Dass resident of H.No. 238, Nand Nagri, Delhi, the South District police has been able to apprehend the desperate criminal who managed to flee at the time of shoot out which took place in Greeen Park Extention area on 19.1.2009 around 4 PM. With his arrest an English pistol (7.65 bore) alongwith three live cartridges have also been recovered from his hide out in Nand Nagri area.Original car keys belonging to the victim of Greater Kailash robbery has also been recovered.

INCIDENT, TEAM AND INVESTIGATION:

As soon as the shoot out at GreenPark Extention took place on 19.1.09, various teams of South District police, Crime Branch, Special Cell, and other districts followed the trail of criminals who absconded from the spot. A team of police station Lodhi Colony consisting of SI Promod Joshi, ASI Anand, HC Satender, Consts. Umesh, Manjeet, Suresh, Kaushlendra and Asgar Ali, under the leadership of Inspr. Rajender Singh, SHO, Lodhi Colony and under the close supervision of Sh. Vikramjeet Singh, ACP/Defence Colony was also formed to pursue the trail of criminals after the incident. The team put in best efforts to locate the absconding criminals. The efforts bore fruits and due to consistent follow up two criminals namely Nadir and Honey surrendered at an office of News Channel. But other escaped criminals namely Amit @ Sonu Chikna, Bittoo and Naseem managed to remain out of police dragnet and left Delhi for some time. But the police team continued its efforts and laid several traps in trans-Yamuna area for several days and raided suspected hide outs. The team developed sources in Nand Nagri area even amongst girl friends of a few criminals and mounted surveillance. On 10.2.09 around 4 PM the team got a specific clue that Amit @ Sonu Chikna may seek the help of some electronic media for his surrender. The team laid a few traps on the basis of information and finally arrested Sonu Chikna from a park near Jhandewalan at around 5 PM on 10.2.09. He was arrested u/s 41.1 Cr. P.C. by the police of P.S. Lodhi Colony. All the concerned police stations where he committed crime were informed regarding his arrest.

INTERROGATION:

On sustained interrogation he disclosed that he started his criminal career in the association of Khurbesh, a desperate gangster of Trans-yamuna area and indulged in gang war with Dinesh Giri, another don of Trans Yamuna area. Dinesh Giri killed their associate Lehri in broad day light in 2004 in Nand Nagri area. In order to take revenge both Khurbesh

and Sonu Chikna joined hands together with Sat Prakash @ Satte who had since come into lime light in the area due to his audacity and brutality. They targeted the criminals of Dinesh Giri gang and opened fire on several persons of Dinesh Giri gang in the area. Sonu Chikna had been involved in three cases of attempt to murder in the recent past. Sonu Chikna shot at Amit Pandit, the close aide of Dinesh Giri resident of Nand Nagri just four days prior to the day of Shoot Out in GreenPark Extention during the ensuing gang war. Amit Pandit even did not report the matter to police due to terror of Satte-Chikna gang.

Sonu Chikna is a B.C. of Police Station Nand Nagri and had earlier been involved in 12 cases of Delhi and Ghaziabad. Since the advent of Sat Prakash @ Satte and after the demise of Dinesh Giri, they both unleashed a reign of terror in the area of Delhi and Sahibabad. Sahibabad police had processed a reward of Rs. 10,000 on Sonu Chikna and 25,000 on Satte. They both are involved and still wanted in numerous cases of robberies recently reported in Sahibabad. In association of Satte, Sonu Chikna committed incident of Bank Van daoity in R.K.Puram, Bank dacoity in Samay Pur Badli, robberies in Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, Anand Vihar etc. during the last 3-4 months.

On the day of GreenPark Shootout, Sonu Chikna was on a stolen motor cycle and was carrying a pistol. Bittoo and Naseem were the other two criminals who absconded on the second motorcycle from the shoot out site. They had planned to commit robbery by using motor cycle initially and later after commission of incident they would have shifted to the Honda Accord car. But due to timely interception by the police, their plan failed and they escaped from the spot brandishing pistols. On his way to escape he called on his advocate and the wife of Satte. He parked the motor cycle near the house of Bittoo and handed over the key to the mother of Bittoo and concealed his weapon at his hide out.

During his absconding period he spent his time with his girl friend and stayed at the house of one lady of Trans-Yamuna area. He remained in close contact of girl friends of other arrested criminals of Shootout case and helped them with money and material help.

RECOVERY:

  1. One 7.65 bore automatic pistol with three live cartridges;
  2. One key of Santro car which he had taken during the Greater Kailash robbery of Amit Jeweller.

COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY WORTH RS. 17,000/- RECOVERED :

ONE ARRESTED

With the arrest of Afroz aged 26 years s/o Hussain Ahmed r/o T-870, Baag Raoji, Kishan Ganj, Delhi, the staff of P.S. D.B.G. Road, Central District police has recovered and seized counterfeit currency amounting to Rs. 17,000/- (in Rs. 500/- denomination notes).

INCIDENT

In the evening of 10.02.2009, SI Jaswant Singh (I/C PP Siddipura) along with Ct. Yogender was performing patrolling in Model Basti. At about 8:25 P.M., a secret information was received that one persons used to supply fake currency notes and also exchange fake currency note of Rs. 500/- with original currency of Rs. 200/-. He could be apprehended near Filmistan or near Loco Shed Mandir, Kishan Ganj. Both the police personnel reacted swiftly and reached near Loco Shed Mandir, Kishan Ganj. The SI gave Rs. 400/- to Ct. Yogender who was in plain clothes for posing him as decoy customer. At about 9 PM, one person came there and after pre-defined signal of confirmation about suspect by the informer, Ct. Yogender approached towards him and exchanged Rs. 400/- given by the SI with two currency notes of Rs. 500/-. After thorough checking of currency notes, it was confirmed that both the currency notes of Rs. 500/- were fake. Subsequently, the suspected person was apprehended by the police personnel. On his search, another 16 counterfeit currency notes of Rs. 500/- were recovered from his pocket. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 40/09 u/s 489-B/489-C IPC was registered at P.S. D.B.G. Road and investigation was taken up.

INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION

On sustained interrogation, the identity of the accused was disclosed as Afroz r/o Kishan Ganj, Delhi. He disclosed that he got these counterfeit currency notes from a person of Kairana, UP some days ago and to earn profit, he was supplying these notes to the shopkeepers as well as exchanged these counterfeit currency notes with the original notes.

Further investigation/interrogation is in progress to verify the facts of his disclosure and unearth the entire racket and source of supply.

RECOVERY

Rs. 17,000/- (34 counterfeit notes in the denomination of Rs. 500/-)

PROFILE

Afroz s/o Hussain Ahmed r/o T-870, Baag Raoji, Kishan Ganj, Delhi is 26 years old. He is illiterate. He is unmarried. He earns his livelihood by repairing leather bags at his house.

GANG OF BURGLARS BUSTED : BOOTY WORTH RS. 2.25 LACS APPROX. RECOVERED

With the arrest of (1) Suraj @ Sher Bahadur @ Shyam Bahadur @ Ram Bahadur aged 24 years s/o Dhan Bahadur @ Tej Bahadur r/o Vill. Ganjara Artikhet, PS – Martadi Ward No. 3, Distt. Bajura, Anchal Seti, Nepal; (2) Kharag Singh @ Kharag Bahadur aged 22 years s/o Piram Singh @ Piram Bahadur r/o Vill. Gothpada, PS – Martadi, Distt. Bajura Anchal Seti, Nepal; (3) Man Bahadur aged 25 years s/o Bir Bahadur r/o Vill. Kurpe, PS – Martadi, Distt. Bajura Anchal Seti, Nepal and (4) Hasth Bahadur aged 22 years s/o Dhan Bahadur r/o Vill. Rankanda, PS Martadi Ward No. 7, Anchal Seti, Nepal, Central District police has busted a gang of Nepali burglars who used to work as Chowkidars in the posh colonies. After their arrest, one burglary case reported from Police Station Rajinder Nagar on 05.01.09, has been worked out.

One Kundan Set with ear rings, one diamond studded Gold ring, one Gold Ginni, Artificial jewellery articles, Foreign Currency Coins and 34 Singapore Dollars were recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT

One Shri Satish Sethi s/o Shri C.L. Sethi r/o 43, D/S Top Floor, New Rajinder Nagar, Delhi reported that on 30.12.08, he along with family had gone to Shimla for outing. In the night of 04.01.09, when they came back, they found that the locks of stair grill of his house and almirah were broken. When he checked the articles, he found that jewellery articles, watches and goggles were stolen from his almirah. Subsequently, a case of Burglary vide FIR No. 2/09 u/s 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Rajinder Nagar and investigation was taken up.

TEAM

A team consisting of Inspr. Investigation Kailash Chand, ASI Om Parkash, ASI Ram Phool, HC Kishan Kumar, HC Ved Pal, Ct. Dharambir, Ct. Satish and Ct. Sanjeev was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Jagdish Parshad, SHO/Rajender Nagar, Central District, Delhi.

INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION

In view of incidents of burglary and thefts in the area, teams were constituted and deployed at the affected and vulnerable locations to perform patrolling. On the night intervening 10-11.02.09, ASI Om Prakash along with HC Krishan Pal were performing patrolling at Shankar Road, New Rajinder Nagar. At about 1 AM, they noticed two Nepali persons roaming in the area under suspicious condition. They were stopped and asked about reasons of their presence in the late night hours but they could not give any satisfactory reply. On their search, a Y-shaped iron rod was recovered which is normally used as house breaking implement. During sustained questioning, they disclosed that they along with their associates were roaming in the area in order to commit burglary. The police persons immediately informed about the incident to other team members who reached the spot at once. At the instance of these rounded up Nepali persons, two more associates were rounded up.

They confessed to have committed burglary in the house of Satish Sethi at Double Storey, New Rajinder Nagar on the night intervening 3-4.02.09. In this burglary, Kharag Singh who was working as Chowkidar in the same colony, had given clues that the house was locked. At their instance, booty was recovered from Ridge area, New Delhi which was buried under a big stone. Based on recovery & disclosure, the identity of the arrested persons was revealed as (1) Suraj @ Sher Bahadur @ Shyam Bahadur @ Ram Bahadur; (2) Kharag Singh @ Kharag Bahadur; (3) Man Bahadur and (4) Hasth Bahadur all resident of Nepal have been arrested.
