TAILORING& EMBROIDARY TRAINING:
During the reporting period, GKVDS started tailoring center for the target children. Initially 18 children came to the center at GKVDS Office at Pakkiripalayam to learn tailoring and embroidery (handwork). For this GKVDS appointed one Tailoring teacher
Mrs. Chandra Devi who is educationally qualified, experienced and trained teacher. The enrolment rate is slow because of center is far away from the target villages. They came by local bus and it is also not come in proper time. Further, they need bus fare for to and fro. So, even though they are very much interested to learn skill promotion training, but the constraints like the above mentioned problems they are unable to attend the classes regularly. So, GKVDS planned to establish decentralized tailoring centers in future, where the building available and accessible to the children. Later GKVDS established 3 centers which is easily accessible to the children coming to the centers (1.Vellalampatti, 2. Ayothinagar and 3 Kurumbapatti). The teacher went to the centers two days per center alternatively. Now around 33 children came and learn tailoring and hand embroidery and plastic wire bag knitting and handicrafts items.
