Welcome to Spring 2018 Monroe Soccer Season: We would like to thank everyone for volunteering. Below we have included some names and numbers that may be useful. Please note, all players must play 50% of the time available.

Games/Practices

  • Games/Practices will be in Monroe at Monroe Crossings
  • Coed- Eight Game season
  • 5 or 6 on a team can play
  • 3v3, six 8-minute periods or as many as the kids are tired
  • No heading allowed
  • Size 3 Soccer Ball

  • Play 9v9, four 12-minute quarters
  • Off-Sides rule in affect.
  • Goalie can pick up the ball anytime in penalty box.
  • No heading allowed
  • Size 4 Ball
  • Strikers/Kickers
  • Practices will be in Monroe at Monroe Crossings
  • 8 game season o Games will be in Monroe and at SAY North teams
  • Play 11v11, four 15-minute quarters. (7 Player minimum to play)
  • No heading allowed in Strikers
  • Heading is allowed in Kickers.
  • Strikers Size 4 Ball / Kickers & up Size 5 Ball

“Times Two” Program: All SAY Areas require no less than two adults per team to be present at all team functions such as games, practices, picnics, etc.! NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Concussion

If you have not completed a concussion online training in the last 3 years we need you can take two approved options:

National Federation of State High School Associations Concussion:

Center for Disease Control and their Prevention Heads Up Concussion

Take the online training (about 20 minutes) print the certificate and send it to the commissioner of your division.We must have one on file and be completed before you practice.

Referee:

Referee Coordinator: Brendan Taylor

Instructional Division 1 ref/game- Both coaches to pay $5/game.

Passer Division – 2 refs/game – Each team to pay one ref $15/game.

Wing Division – 2 refs/game – Home team pays each ref $20/game.

Striker/Kicker Division – 2 refs/game – Home team pays each ref $25/game.

Lopsided Games: Running up Scores Please remember this is recreational and supposed to be fun for all no one likes to get blown away (see lopsided game handout).

Rain Out Procedures & Number: Coaches do not cancel any games due to weather. Only the Field Coordinator or a Referee can cancel a game due to weather. The rain out number is 513-298-1877 ext. 3 and it is meant primarily for COACHES ONLY! We ask that coaches only call in and then phone their parents (see Rain Procedures on website, bottom of main page).

A decision to conduct games will be made by 8:00 am on Saturday.

Please do NOT ARGUE WITH OTHER COACHES OR REFEREE’S if you have a problem with a coach you may address your concern AFTER the game to one of the Coach Commissioners.

Important Dates

  • Practices can start on Monday March 5th.
  • Equipment HandoutMarch 5th & 6th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at concession stands
  • Coaches are required to turn in all gear at the end of the season, regardless if you will coach in the Fall!
  • Uniform Handout: Week of March 26th
  • Pictures: Shooting for the first week of April.
  • March 31st: Easter Weekend, no games this week
