GAME TIME FORFEITS

  • Game time is forfeittime. (see exceptions below)
  • The BSSC recognizes that forfeits are unpopularand in the attempt to reduce/eliminate them, the following exceptions have been put in place.

SUBSTITUTION(S)FROM A CURRENT LEAGUE ROSTER TO AVOID A GAME TIME FORFEIT
With a maximum of (2) games during the regular season, teams may use up to (3) current league player substitute(s) to fulfill minimum “game time forfeit” requirements.
NOTE:This rule exception is not intended for teams to have substitutions over the forfeit minimum.

  • Exception: If the other team permits the use of up to 3 substitute(s) to go over minimum requirements.
  • Player(s)may not be inserted after the start of the game.
  • Players outside of the current league rosters may NOT substitute and will be considered “illegal”.
  • Oncetheteamplayer(s)havearrived,substituteplayer(s)areremovedfromparticipatinginthegame.

If the regular team players do not arrive and the substitute player(s) end up playing the duration of the game, the game results will stand as is regardless of theoutcome.

SUBSTITUTION CONDITIONS

  • A game time forfeit will be recorded, after the (2) game limit has been reached by a team.
  • Current league players who substitute may ONLY participant in the identical/higher divisional game. EXAMPLE: A Taste Great/Less Filling player, may NOT participate in a Super-X game. But, a Super-X player may participate in a Taste Great/Less Filling game.
  • A current league player, may only participate in (1) gamescheduled for thatday/night.
    EXAMPLE: If they are a substitute in the 11am game, they may not also sub in the 1pm game that day.
  • A current league player may substitute up to (2) gamesduring the regularseason.
  • Current league player(s) name and team # will be noted in the BSSC “substitute” database for reference.

NOTE: Substitutions of any kind will not be allowed in the POSTSEASON.ASSISTANCE IN FINDING DIVISION PLAYERS TO AVOID A FORFEIT

  • For assistance from the BSSC to help find division substitute(s) to avoid a forfeit, the coach MUST contact the BSSC by NOON the day before their game is scheduled.
  • This is for teams who are certain they will forfeit the next regular season game, if substitutes are not used.
  • The BSSC will contact teams in the same division whose game time is before/after, to see if any player would like to substitute for the forfeiting team.
  • BSSC can NOT guaranteethey will find someone but will do their best.

GAME TIME/NO SHOW FORFEIT REIMBURSEMENT

  • A $50 fine will be assessed to the team who did not have the minimum # of players at game time and if the substitution(s) exception was not used.
  • The non-forfeiting team will receive a $50 voucher for the sponsor bar the followingweek.
  • If a team is forfeited against in the postseason, no vouchers will begiven.

PLAYING A GAME TIME FORFEIT “FUN” GAME

  • If the BSSC official declares a “game time forfeit”, teams will play an officiated "fun game". Regardless of the outcome of the "fun game," the forfeiting team will have a loss recorded and a forfeit fine assessed (see forfeit fine waivedrule).

HOW TO AVOID A FORFEIT FINE

  • A team can avoid a forfeit fine by contacting the BSSC by NOON on the day of the game Monday-Friday.
  • A team can avoid a forfeit fine by contacting the BSSC (3) hours before game time on Saturday or Sunday. Example: Game time is 4pm, forfeit notice must be e-mailed by 1pm.
  • This will allow the BSSC to contact the other team to let them know they will not have a game.
