GALLERIA FERRARI OFFERS ONE LUCKY PERSON THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS PRESENT!

Ferrari has not only been breaking records on the race track in 2007 – Galleria Ferrari, the official Ferrari Museum, is heading towards its own record of passing the 200,000 visitor mark in a year, having already welcomed its two millionth visitor in November following it opening in 1990.

For the 200,000th visitor, who is expected to walk through the doors in Maranello during the last two weeks of December, a very special day will be awaiting him or her – a full day inside the Ferrari Factory, something normally reserved for Ferrari owners, hot laps on the Fiorano test track with Ferrari’s own test drivers and a special meal at the historic Ristorante Cavallino.

The rapid growth in the attendance at the Galleria Ferrari to make it one of the leading tourist attractions in Italyhas been driven not just by the natural attraction of Ferrari, its products and the Formula One team. The Galleria Ferrari has a continuously changing programme of special exhibitions that show Ferrari’s links with worldwide communities and the influences it has had on the world.

At the moment it is running an exhibition on Ferrari and Woman, looking at the woman who have raced, owned and influenced Ferrari since the company’s inception. Previous exhibitions have looked at Ferrari in the movies and an exhibition about the famous musicians who have owned Ferraris, illustrated not just with their cars, but also the instruments they played. Naturally the 60th Anniversary of Ferrari this year led to a major series of displays.

At the heart of the Galleria is the Formula One display, which includes a complete reproduction of a Formula One garage during a Grand Prix, classic Formula One and sports racing cars drawn from a collection of more then 260 cars and a reproduction of the office of Enzo Ferrari from days when he ran the company and the team. One the next floor is an area dedicated to the road-going Ferraris, with displays of engines, design models and, of course, actual cars. From this gallery are two more display areas, one dedicated to a changing display of sports cars and a small cinema. The other exhibition area holds the changing major themed displays.

“Despite several visits to the Galleria, I always make time to visit again when I am in Maranello,” explains Kevin Wall, General Manager for Ferrari in Australia and New Zealand. “There is always something new to see, usually both a new themed display as well as different vehicles in the main display areas. But what really amazes me is just how close you can get to look at their priceless display cars and how visitors can really get a feel for and understand the passion that has driven Ferrari to become both the most successful racing team or all time and the number one super car maker.”

During the Christmas period the Galleria will remain open every day (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day) from 9.30 through 18.00.
