ELIGIBILITY criteria
1. Nominations for the following awards can only be made where the nominee is a member of Boccia England or volunteering at a member organisation /club.
· Club of the Year
· Participation / Community Coach of the Year
· Junior Athlete of the Year
· Athlete of the year
· Team of the year
2. Where nominations are made, this should focus on their performance and achievements in 2015.
3. Nominees should be notified that they've been nominated.
4. Nominations can only be made for involvement within the Sport of Boccia.
5. The closing deadline for applications is the 30th April 2016.

What are the Boccia Awards?
The Boccia Awards are a celebration of sporting achievements. The awards provide a way of recognising and, above all, celebrating the successes of ouroutstanding athletes, inspirational volunteers, great coaches and high quality clubs and organisations across England.
Can I nominate the same person for more than one award?
Yes, but each nomination must be made on a separate nomination form.
What information should I put in my application?
Details of the top achievements/results for the eligible period. Remember, we
can only judge from the information detailed on the form.
Can I attach more information?
Additional information will not be considered by the judging panel.

Award Cirteria
Club of the Year
In recognition of a Boccia club who has shown significant development over past the year, by increasing opportunities and / or developing its participants or workforce, making a contribution to the local community and is likely to have achieved or be working towards achieving club accreditation.
Participation / Community Coach of the Year
In recognition of a coach (unpaid) who shows an outstanding contribution to getting more people starting, staying and succeeding in boccia though high quality coaching.
We are looking for someone who:
· Creates a positive environment and is athlete centered,
· A positive role model for their performers,
· Widens access to boccia through high-quality coaching,
· Examples of innovative practice,
· Demonstration of dedication and ability.
Performance Coach of the year
In recognition of the achievements of a coach who is working with athletes at the highest level of performance in boccia. Shows dedication and high ability to support player centered, high quality coaching that encourages development within Boccia and nurtures talent.
We are looking for someone who:
· A qualified coach (unpaid) who has coached individuals or teams to outstanding success,
· Displays evidence of player-centered development leading to successful performance within boccia,
· Coaches athletes to a national or international level,
· Displays examples of innovative practice,
· Is a positive role model for their performers.
Young Coach of the year
In recognition of the achievements of a young coach under 18 years of age. The award winner will be a role model to all players in their club/school/organisation, has high personal standards (timekeeping, appearance, preparation and delivery of coaching sessions) and has a planned personal development programme. Their enthusiasm must be infectious, their coaching sessions must be of a consistently high standard and be good fun.
Volunteer of the year
This award recognises a volunteer who has made a significant contribution of time and effort and who continuously displays an outstanding commitment to boccia.
We are looking for someone who:
· Made a notable commitment of their personal time resulting in a positive impact on their club, school, or organisation
· Developed their own skills, knowledge and experience through training e.g. attending workshops or appropriate qualifications,
· Has been involved in the recruitment or support of other volunteers,
· Is an advocate for Boccia England.
Junior Athlete of the Year
In recognition of a junior boccia athlete under 18 years of age who has shown improvement in performance and achievement within boccia in the last 12 months. They should also have demonstrated dedication to training and be an inspiration to others.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has shown great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in boccia,
· Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement.
Athlete of the year
In recognition of boccia athlete over 18 years of age who has shown improvement in performance and achievement within boccia in the last 12 months. They should also have demonstrated dedication to training and be an inspiration to others.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has shown great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in boccia,
· Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement.
Team of the year
A committed boccia team or pair who have shown motivation, determination and sportsmanship throughout the season.
We are looking for:
· A boccia team or pair who come from a community group, boccia club, college, or school.
· A boccia team or pair who have in the last 12 months:Achieved success or competed at a consistently high level throughout the year; demonstrated fair play and a good sporting attitude throughout the year.
Young official of the year
This award recognises a young boccia official under 18 years of age for their contribution and dedication to boccia and the development of officiating in the country.
We are looking for someone who:
· Is a registered official with Boccia England,
· Made a significant commitment of their personal time,
· Conducted themselves professionally at all times,
· Developed their own skills, knowledge and experience,
· Acted as a role model and set a good example to other officials,
· Is an advocate for Boccia England.
Official of the year
This award recognises an official for their contribution and dedication to boccia and the development of officiating in the country.
We are looking for someone who:
· Is a registered official with Boccia England,
· Made a significant commitment of their personal time,
