Special instructions – Baggage KLM exemptions

As a general rule, exemptions and discounts due to class of service and/or frequent flyer status are taken into account when compiling the service catalogue.

However, the following exemptions cannot be automated and are subject to special processing.

The cost of the first baggage is waived for:

-Frequent Flyers with Ivory status

-Corporate private & public fares

-Blue Bizcustomers

For these cases there are 2 options:

  1. Avoid booking the first additional bag if a second bag is needed; only start booking from the second bag onwards if required.
  2. Book the first additional bag but it will be rejected with status code NO by KLM; this is normal and to be expected.

Special instructions – Reaccommodation

Please observe the following procedures in case of schedule change or involuntary reaccommodation:

- In case of involuntary ticket revalidation, the EMD-A will remain associated to the original ticket so no agent action is required.

- In case of involuntary ticket reissue, the travel agent may process the EMD exchange themselves or request EMD-A reassociation to Air France or KLM directly.

- In case of re protection on another carrier, the passenger should be advised to contact Air France or KLM for baggage arrangements.
