·  General assembly is coming up, delegates due 8/29, as Mitch is on national board of directors, Pam will serve as our team captain
·  Jean Proehl, former president, was re-elected to the board of directors and is working on a project on hemolysis on blood draws – if interested, e-mail her at
President-elect report / Pam / ·  Delegates only – Kansas is allowed 7 delegates and 1 alternate which includes the team captain which leaves 7 spots open in addition to Pam. Seven applications were received so Kansas will have a full delegation. However, Cheryl indicated after submitting her application that it may not be possible for her to get off work to go after all. Pam asked if anyone was interested in replacing her if she was unable to go to notify prior to the close of the meeting today. Delegates for 2014 are: Pam (team captain), Carol Kappelman, Julie Miller, Cheryl Swearingen, Jane Ross, Charla Holman, Joan Horton, and Patti Russell (alternate.) A shirt will be ordered for Patti – if anyone else would like a different size please let Pam know ASAP.

CEN review / Denise / ·  So far 16 registered for Hutch, 5 for Lawrence, 5 are new members
·  Joan will print the books
·  Life Team will have a table set up in Hutchinson and will provide lunch (up to $10 per person) each day in Hutchinson
·  Pam will be there with CEN testing information available
·  Carol will have the new members information
·  Helpers in Hutchinson: Cindy, Pam, Denise, Jane
·  Lawrence helpers: Elaine, Joan, Stella, Carol, Darlene, Jane
·  Joan will take books to Lawrence, Jane will transport to Hutch with pins and jewelry
·  KENA will pay for lunch in Lawrence if needed as no vendors have been forthcoming as yet
EMS / ·  KEMSA conference is next week. Brian again will represent KENA. Life Team will take the banner

Darlene’s report / Darlene / ·  TNCC conference call – 6,000 instructors passed, six month mark passed with positive remarks
·  ENPC is receiving good feedback on changes
·  Classes being held – several instructors who have had to start over for various reasons
·  ACT – Karman Allen replaced Roseanne
·  Time to renew Level IV designations already
·  Will KENA provide funding for the trauma regions again? Yes
·  Joe House was appointed executive director of the Board of EMS
·  EMS protocols winding the way through
·  Safe Kids policy platform shared – age span is up to 19 now
·  EMSC has a coordinator position open
·  Shared survey results
·  Dr. Stephanopolous prefers initials instead of numbers
·  KDOT – Safe Highway Traffic Safety Plans – fatalities are up
·  STN – Certification and violence study
·  KSNA – violence committee
·  Trauma Summit – 101 there – evals good

Election results / Teller report: Pam Kvas, president; Elaine Swisher, president-elect; Jane Ross, secretary; Carol Kappelman, treasurer; board of directors Darlene Whitlock and Denise Spaeth. Third highest vote getter in case of need to know later was Deb Veatch.
