Baltimore City Academic Enrichment Camps (Ages 5-13) - FREE

“Academic Enrichment Summer Camp provides activities to promote your child’s physical, social and intellectual growth. Activities include enviro-nature, life skills, healthy choices and experiments to provide hands-on learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School (Grades 6-12)

Baltimore Clayworks Summer Camp (Ages 6-15)

“Join Baltimore Clayworks this summer for an exciting series of summer camps! In 2018 we will explore our planet’s diverse history, culture, and environments through clay. Campers will become masters of their craft, while exploring hand-building and potter’s wheel techniques to create their own inspired clay masterpieces. Check out the camp descriptions and schedule below — 11 weeks of full-day camps for children and half-day camps for teens. All camps run Monday through Friday. Class fees include all materials and firing.”

Baltimore Lab School Summer Program (Rising Grades 1-12)

Baltimore Shakespeare Factory (Rising Grades 3-12)

BIA Language Immersion Summer Camp (Rising Grades K-8)

“Children will be fully immersed in their chosen target language (Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, or French) throughout the day. Baltimore Yoga Village Summer Camp (Ages 5-11)

Camp Summit for the Gifted (Ages 9-14)

Center Stage (Grades 1-8)

“Camp Baltimore Center Stage is a two-week day camp for students in grades 1–12. Young people who participate will build creative confidence and self-awareness through intensive explorations of theater. Students get the opportunity to play, express themselves, and get artistic instruction from a team of highly-trained professional teaching artists. Each two-week session culminates in a fun presentation of student work for family and friends. Classes include acting, dance, circus arts, and theater production.”

Global Languages (Rising Grades 4-6)

“The Anne Arundel County Public Schools' Center for Global Languages offers gifted and talented students a challenging and exciting language experience and an opportunity to explore many aspects of cultures and civilizations far more ancient than those of the United States. The Center offers a rigorous, exciting, hands-on, engaging cultural experience in the context of creating cultural understanding and knowledge of language. Students may choose to study Spanish, Chinese, or French. During the eight days of the Center, students will learn where these languages are spoken and will use their chosen language to exchange greetings and personal information with others.”

JHU/APL Center for Space and Science (Rising Grades 6-8)

“Have space exploration and space travel always fascinated you? Have you ever wondered what it is like to be part of an engineering team to plan and design a space mission? At the Center for Space Science, you will work in collaborative teams alongside NASA scientists and engineers to plan a space mission. Learn about the current applications of space technology and exploration of the solar system by simulating the process involved in designing a NASA Discovery Mission. Working in small groups, you will experience the process involved in planning and launching a space mission, including the design and fabrication of a satellite. You will be part of a space center team that builds a scale model of a spacecraft complete with instrumentation. Join in the fun as you design and launch a water bottle rocket. You will also have the opportunity to take a field trip to a space center.”

MSDE Summer Opportunities for Gifted Students (Grades 2-12)

RAMS Center for Chesapeake Bay Ecosystems Research (Grades 6-11)

“NorthBay, in partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education offers RAMS Center for Chesapeake Bay Ecosystems Research. Located at the University of Maryland Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge, MD this summer program brings authentic science education to Maryland’s gifted and talented student population. It is not required that students are identified or currently participating in a Gifted program but a strong desire to explore and investigate local ecosystems and challenge oneself will ensure success.

After choosing a track of study, students will work together to conduct field investigations, collect and analyze real world data and determine the effects of physical, chemical, and biological influences on the Chesapeake Bay. They will have the opportunity to work alongside top scientists and professionals to develop possible solutions to the issues facing our watershed. Using the IEEIA model (Investigating and Evaluating Environmental Issues and Actions), students will utilize common core language arts and math, and next generation science standards.”

Summer Initiatives Camp (Ages 5-12)

“Free 6-week camp hosted by City Schools’ police officers. Daily activities include music, arts and crafts, cooking, swimming, field trips, and more. Breakfast and lunch are provided.Transportation is not provided."

Young Audiences’ Summer Arts & Learning Academy (Grades PreK-5th) - FREE

“Baltimore City Public School’s elementary grades summer program operated by Young Audiences gives students a once in once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend their summer learning from the best teachers and professional teaching artists our state has to offer—all while having fun!

Students will explore math and literacy in a unique arts-integrated environment that prevents summer learning loss, allows them to develop socially and emotionally, and expands their personal creative process. After summer, students who attended most of the program came back to school ahead of their peers in math and reading!”
