The Young Actors Studio, Pembrokeshire
Established in 2008, The Young Actors Studio (YAS) is a thriving part of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) and provides high quality acting classes for 12-20 year olds on Sundays in Cardiff.
An overview of YAS is available here http://www.rwcmd.ac.uk/young_actors_studio.aspx
In 2014, RWCMD launched its Young Actors Studio in West Wales in partnership with Valero and Pembrokeshire College, Haverfordwest. YAS Pembrokeshire has just completed a very successful first term and - due to an increase in demand for classes - is now recruiting tutors in a range of drama and music specialisms.
There are two courses within YAS, both delivered by specialist tutors and RWCMD staff:
· the one-year Acting Courses for 16-20 year olds provide a real insight into drama school training and is targeted at those who wish to study acting at HE level. Entry to this course is by audition.
· the open-access Theatre Workshop classes offer students aged 12-18 a half-day acting workshop each week. The workshops emphasize the development of core drama and ensemble skills, along with personal and performance confidence.
YAS Pembrokeshire hours are 10:00 to 15:45 on Saturdays during the YAS term. Classes are delivered at Pembrokeshire College, Haverfordwest.
We are seeking experienced specialists to deliver classes in the following: Movement for Actors, Voice, Acting for Camera, Improvisation, Alexander Technique, Acting Through Song, Classical and Contemporary Text. The successful candidates will be committed to inspiring young actors to a high level of skill and personal development, and able to work well with students, colleagues and parents within a busy environment.
Teaching is offered as and when demand dictates.
