Fundraising Events Intern

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Director of Fundraising

AIM OF THE JOB:

To provide efficient administrative and practical support to the charity’s events programme ensuring supporters have a positive and memorable experience of the charity

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Support a programme of fundraising, engagement events and trade stands

·  Secure prizes

·  Attend events and help deliver them

·  Research future opportunities

·  Be responsible for all areas of customer care involved in the administrative support of events including:

o  Create and maintain accurate supporter records in relation to the event

o  Amend and allocate payments to supporter records using data processing systems

o  Produce routine reports as required

o  Produce thank you letters in response to the event in a timely fashion

o  Processing all payments to and from third party agencies and suppliers

o  File all customer service and event correspondence digitally

o  Answer all supporter queries in a professional and timely fashion

·  Support the fundraising team with general administrative duties, e.g. opening post and answering phones

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To undertake other job-related tasks as directed by the Director of Fundraising

HEALTH & SAFETY

·  To comply with the policies of World Horse Welfare to ensure that risks within the working environment are reduced as low as reasonably practicable

·  To raise any health and safety concerns with your Line Manager or the Health & Safety Officer based at Head Office

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE
EXPERIENCE / ·  Customer facing / ·  Working within a fundraising environment
·  Telephone sales
·  Data inputting
·  Marketing
·  Events coordination
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS / ·  Excellent oral and written communication skills
·  Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows
·  Excellent keyboard skills
·  Ability to communicate with people at all levels
·  Excellent telephone skills / ·  Working knowledge of Alms.net
·  Understanding of the function of a fundraising database
