Option 1) FACTS Tuition Payment Plan

TO APPLY: Go to

Tuition payments can be made directly to the Business Office or by a monthly payment plan. Our monthly payment plan, operated by the FACTS/Nelnet automatic debit plan which takes payments out of your checking or savings account. There is a $25 fee to participate, and there is no interest charged. Here is what you can do with FACTS/Nelnet:

  • Make a down payment IMMEDIATELY and arrange for monthly payments
  • Make an optional down payment IMMEDIATELY and arrange for monthly payments
  • Pay in full IMMEDIATELY
  • FACTS/Nelnet e-Cashier will allow you to make payment(s) by Automatic Payments from your Checking or Savings account Credit Card. The nonrefundable enrollment fee to budget payment(s) through FACTS is: $25.00 per Semester (1-6 payments), $2.00 for Full Payment (PROCESSED IMMEDIATELY)

The nonrefundable enrollment fee for Automatic Payments will be processed within 14 days of your FACTS/Nelnet agreement being posted to the FACTS/Nelnet system.

Option 2) Federal Student Aid - Grants (step 1 & 2);Loans (step 1, 2 & 3)

□ 1) Complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) send to (school code 002485)

□ 2) Complete the Estimated Cost Worksheetand send it to the Financial Aid office. This form must include the amount of loan requested, signature, and dated. If this form was received by email, the COA is also attached to the email as well. If not received by email, look to your financial aid packet for form.

□ 3) Apply for a Federal Student Loan online at

  • Studentsmay compare and select from the LOANCONNECT listing or the National Lender List.
  • Parents of dependent undergraduate students who wish to apply for more money than the Stafford limits need to select PARENT PLUS LOAN.

□ 4) Complete Stafford Entrance counseling online at .

□ 5) For MBTS scholarships, submit the Scholarship Application 2009-2010 by July 15 for the Spring, and December 15 for the Fall, to the Financial Aid office.

After these steps are complete, your requests will be processed. The financial aid administrator may schedule a meeting with you to discuss your application.

Loans are disbursed in two (2) equal payments per year. Funds will be disbursed up to 10 days before the first day of class (or 2-3 weeks after requested).The loan funds are disbursed in this order:

Tuition & Fees, On-campus housing, thenother school expenses (if applicable)

(NOTE: Only if there is a credit on the student's account after all MBTS expenses are paid will funds be disbursed to the student in a refund check. Requests for release of funds should be made through the Business Office no earlier than one week after the first disbursement. Please allow about one week to process the check request.)

To qualify for Federal Student Loans and Grants:

  • Student must be fully admitted (A1 Final)
  • Student must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 hours a semester. J-term courses do not count towards the hours required.
  • Student cannot take out loans for courses already taken.
  • Student must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher to receive loans. Satisfactory academic progress is required.
  • Student cannot take out Federal loans to fund mission trips or non-school related expenses.

Students who exceed $30,000 in student loans while attending Midwestern not including previous loans from other schools may be required to do financial aid counseling with the financial aid administrator.

Students who receive loans must enroll and attend a one-day budget seminar in the Fall. If the student has taken the seminar through MBTS in a previous year they may be exempt from retaking the course. Any student who does not attend the conference without prior approval may not receive further funds until they meet with either the Financial Aid administrator or the Vice President of Student Development.

Midwestern Seminary reserves the right to decrease or cancel any loan request. In such circumstances the student will be notified and a conference will be arranged to review the particular loan situation.
