ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT COORDINATOR

FULL-TIME TERM POSITION (30 Weeks)

Salary Level: SP 07- $47,168.81

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Environment Program Manager, the Environmental Project Coordinator will be responsible for working independently and/or with a team of other environmental professionals coordinating activities for the Minnow and Wetland Projects. The incumbent will also be responsible for the development and management or project reports and data management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years at the university level in biology, fish biology or a related field with 2 to 3 seasons of field experience OR four (4) years at the university level in biology, fish biology or related field with one (1) season of field experience. Extensive knowledge of naturalized knowledge systems. Must be able to identify species in and around Akwesasne, including Species at Risk.

Incumbent must possess effective organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to collect Traditional Ecological Knowledge of the community of Akwesasne. Must be proficient in the following computer programs: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint). Small craft operator certification required or must be obtained as soon as possible once hired. Ability to speak/converse/read the Mohawk language is considered an asset (or willingness to learn).
