TheSisters of Charity of Nazareth are an international Congregation in a multicultural world. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS OVERVIEW

FULL TIME 2018/Exempt & Non Exempt

Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits

Eligible to join health, dental and vision insurance plans from the first day of employment

  • Medical Insurance- BCBS national plan (see attached rates)
  • Dental Insurance- Offered through MetLife (see attached rates)
  • Vision Plan- Offered through EyeMed (see attached rates)

Life Insurance and AD&D

  • Employer pays for basic plan (one times the annual income rounded to the nearest $10,000)
  • Employee can purchase supplemental coverage and dependent coverage
  • Eligible from first day of employment
  • Must work at least 20 hours per week to be eligible for a minimum coverage of $10,000.

Long Term Disability

  • Employer pays full cost
  • 90 day waiting period for benefits to start
  • All employees working at least 20 hours per week and have been employed for 12 months are eligible to participate
  • Benefit allows 60% of basic monthly income not to exceed $5,000 per month
  • Minimum monthly benefit is $100
  • Benefits are paid for absences or illnesses or injuries (including pregnancy) which are expected to last beyond 90 days and require the regular attendance of a physician.

Short Term Disability

  • Employee pays the full cost
  • Plans are administered through AFLAC

Retirement Plans

Christian Brothers Defined Benefit Retirement Plan

  • SCN pays full cost
  • 100 % vested after 4 years and 9 months of employment
  • Eligible after 6 months of employment and 1040 hours of service each year

Tax Deferred Annuity (403B)- Christian Brothers invested with Vanguard

  • Can contribute up to the IRS maximums on dollar amounts
  • SCNs pay administrative costs and contribute 1% of salary for those who participate
  • 100% vested in employer contributions
  • Eligible to participate after one month of service
  • Invested with VanGuard and Administered through Christian Brothers

Paid Time Off Benefits

Vacation- accrued each pay period and available for use after 6 months of service

  • Full-time employees accrue vacation time according to the following schedule:

Sick Leave- accrue 3 hours each pay period up to 10 days per year

  • Unused time accumulates to 60 days (480 hours)
  • Can be used for personal illness, medical appointments and to care for a spouse, child or parent.
  • Buy-back of up to 5 days per year after maximum accrual is reached

Paid Time Off (PTO) - available to use after 90 days of service

  • 2 days granted on January 1 each calendar year
  • If you are hired after June 1st- 1 PTO will be granted
  • Available for emergency absences or scheduled days off
  • Unused time can be rolled into Sick Leave each year

Personal Days

Full-time employees with fifteen (15) years of continuous service will be granted a personal holiday off with pay. An additional personal day will be granted each year for each five-year period worked beyond 15 years according to the following schedule:

15-19 years = 1 day30-34 years = 4 days

20-24 years = 2 days35-39 years = 5 days

25-29 years = 3 days40 + years = 6 days

These personal holidays must be used within the calendar years in which they are earned.
