2018 National Inter-ClubWinter Carnival (ICWC) at Breckenridge

The Victorian Town of Breckenridge, in the heart of Colorado’s majestic Rocky Mountains, is an ideal and unique destination - authentic and unpretentious. During the ICWC, there will be a welcome reception, orientation breakfast, gate practice, a themed banquet and the ICWC race to establish some healthy club to club and council to council competition. Friday evening we’ll cap off the week with a farewell reception and race awards.

Epic Pass Purchases
Guests who will spend more than 10 ski days at a Vail Associated Resort are encouraged to purchase an Epic Pass product instead of the group lift tickets. Participants who purchase their ‘17-’18 pass thru Sports America at will receive a $50 lodging credit on this package.

Saturday, Jan 27 - Arrival in Breckenridge
Upon arrival Trip leaders will collect trip materials from Sports America staff and should arrange to distribute material to their members.
Snow Sculpture Viewing
Take a moment to wander down to the Riverwalk Center to view the 2018 International Snow Sculptures. Sculptures are removed the night of Monday, Jan. 29th if they have not already melted.
Sunday, Jan 28
Kick Off Breakfast -Open to FULL package participants only

LOCATION: Beaver Run Resort & The Village at Breck – exact room TBD
DETAILS: Chat with local resort representatives and start your week off right with a full hot breakfast buffet. Location will be assigned in advance for guests staying at properties other than Beaver Run or The Village.
Welcome Party - Open to ALL participants
TIME:7:00-10:00pm
LOCATION: Beaver Run Resort – exact room TBD
To Get there: If you arrive by shuttle, and enter through the front doors at Beaver Run go through the lobby, towards the left, down just a few steps and you’ve made it.
DETAILS: Evening includes a chance to get to know who’s on the trip & talk with local resort representatives. We also recommend signing the race waiver & activating your Epic Mix card if you haven’t already. Evening includes a complimentary drink and cash bar, as well as assorted appetizers and DJ entertainment.
THIS IS NOT A DINNER EVENT! Club members should eat dinner before or after and should limit the amount of appetizers enjoyed during the party.

Race Training
TIME:1:00-3:00pm (subject to change)
LOCATION: Breckenridge Epic Race Arena
DETAILS: Waiver must be signed in advance & guests must be carrying their Epic Mix Card or Epic Pass. Complimentary training runs on the GS course. Training runs are not timed.
Après Party
TIME:3:30-5:30pm (subject to change)
LOCATION:Copper Top at Beaver Run
DETAILS: Full Package participants will receive a complimentary drink & access to appetizer buffet.
Tuesday, Jan 30
Race Day
TIME: 10:00am-1:00pm (subject to change)
LOCATION: Breckenridge Epic Race Arena
DETAILS: Waiver must be signed in advance & guests must be carrying their Epic Mix Card or Epic Pass. Dual GS course, set for all ability levels.
Mid Week Lunch -Open to FULL package participants only
TIME: 11:30am-1pm (subject to change)
LOCATION: Vista Haus or Outlook (based on final participant count)
DETAILS: This event is open to FULL package participants. Hosted at an on-mountain venue it will include a buffet BBQ lunch.
Wednesday, Jan 31
Themed Gala Banquet - Open to ALL participants
TIME:7:00 – 10:00pm
LOCATION: Beaver Run Resort – exact room TBD
DETAILS: Come dressed in your best PARTY THEME TBD!. Sports America will award prizes for best male & best female costume (by crowd vote). Evening includes 1 complimentary drink and buffet dinner with various entrée items. Special Veggie & Gluten free meals can be arranged if requested in advance. Includes DJ entertainment & cash bar. Seating will be assigned per club, by resort staff.
Thursday, Feb 1
VAIL group ski day
TIME:7:30am-4:00pm(subject to change)
LOCATION: Load at respective properties
DETAILS: Busses are arranged by property based on total # of participants at each. Load Details TBD. Buses will drop & pick up participants in Lionshead Village. This gives you easy access to Eagle Bahn Gondola & Born Free Express. Popular après locations include Garfunkles & Tavern on the Square.
If you are not familiar with Vail we recommend you read this:
Be back at the transit loop for pick up at 4pm. Busses will depart as they fill and go to each necessary property, based on passengers. We will NOT be taking a head count. It is skiers responsibility to be back to catch the bus. Individuals will be responsible for their own transportation back to Breckenridge if they miss the bus.
IMPORTANT REMINDER – YOU MUST BRING YOUR LIFT TICKET!!!
If you get to Vail without your lift ticket you will have to pay for a new ticket (almost $200 at the window) or not ski.
Friday, Feb 2
Farewell Reception & Award Ceremony
TIME: 4:30-7:00pm
LOCATION: Beaver Run Resort – room TBD
DETAILS: Wrap up the week saying goodbye to new friends & congratulating top finishing racers all while sipping some California Wine & Champagne, and enjoying assorted pizza buffet. Reception will include a cash bar & music entertainment.
