The following is how the “440” Scholarship program for NAPA AutoCarecustomers and prospects works.

This scholarship allows NAPA to send their auto repair shop customers to a twoday 2018 Vin Waterhouse Financial Management for the Automotive Repair Businessclass for a net cost as little as $55.00. Here’s how it works:

1) Each year NAPA HQ asks each NAPA DC to schedule and sponsor a Vin Waterhouse two-day Financial Management forthe Auto Repair Business class for their customers. Theyear 2018 schedule has been is posted on my website. See

2) The sponsoring NAPA DC or store owner (Jobber) will charge their dealer attendeesa$495 - $540 non- refundabletuition to attend the two-day class. This includes a manual. A second person from the same shop is typically charged $150to help recover the cost of food and room etc.The sponsoring DC will offer a “Money back Guarantee” to class participants should they be unhappy with the class. The Guarantee is backed up by Vin Waterhouse.

CANCELATION POLICY: In the event a shop owner pays the $495- $540 fee to the sponsoring DC and cancels at the last minute, the $495-$540 class tuition is not refundable. The DC keeps the tuition to offset their fixed expenses.The shop owner is told they may attend another class anywhere, anytime, with any DC at no charge, so the shop owner will never lose their money.

Example: A shop owner committed to attend a class with DC #1, paid the tuition but canceled at the last minute. The shop owneris not refunded and the tuition is kept by sponsoringDC#1 to offset their fixed cost. The customer is told they may attend another class anywhere in the USAat N/C. The customer learns that DC#2 is sponsoring a Vin Waterhouse class in another state and decides to attend that class. DC #2 allows the shop owner to attend the class at no charge because it doesn’t cost the DC any money to allow the shop owner to attend as the expenses for DC#2 arefixed. Each 2-day class comes with a training manual for each attendee.

3) Upon graduation from the two-day class each shop owner will receive a total of $440.00 in free product at list price. ($110.00 from each of the four sponsoring manufacturers). This offer is limited to $440.00 per shop regardless of how many people from the same shop attend the class.

4) This generous scholarship is funded by four key sponsoring manufacturers. There is no cost to the NAPADC or jobber. The four sponsors are NAPA Brakes, NAPA Echlin, NAPA Filters and NAPA Heating & Cooling. Each sponsoring manufacturer is invited to attend and send as many of their employees as they may determine to any and all Vin Waterhouse classes at no charge as many times as they wish.

5) Vin Waterhouse will send a complete list of all class attendees to the sponsor’s National Sales Managers or anyone they designate. This list will include name, address, telephone numberand email address of all that completed the two-day class. This list becomes a prospect list for NAPA sponsors to visit the shops, get feedback and increase their market sharebecausethe customers have been trained in the importance and value of stocking and selling NAPA premium lines.

6) Upon receipt of a list of class graduates from Vin Waterhouse, the sponsors will ask their sales representative to call upon the repair shop and deliver the free product valued at $110.00 (list price). Some have elected to take $110.00 in free product from the servicing NAPA store and write an RGN to the servicing store. I have written suggested sales scripts for the sponsoring sales representatives to use when making a follow up call as a tool for seeking new business andline changeovers etc. as well as get an evaluation of the class directly from the class attendees.
