From:TEA Leadership Training Committee

Subject: Exalted Ruler Elect Training Workshop

This is to announce the twenty-first annual “ER Elect Workshop” (Gonnabe ERs University) to be held on Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th, 2018 at the Nashville-Franklin Elks Lodge in Franklin, Tennessee. The Exalted Ruler Elect from your Lodge is invited to attend. A room will be reserved for your Exalted Ruler Elect at the America’s Best Value Inn in Franklin for Saturday night and will be paid for by the Tennessee Elks Association. The workshop starts promptly at 12 noon Central Standard Time Saturday, March 3rd and runs until 12 noon on Sunday, March 4th.

Please provide the enclosed information to your ER Elect immediately after his/her nomination and insure that your ER Elect completes the enclosed registration form. Mail or FAX (731-986-3015) the completed form to Hershel B. Wilkes, to arrive no later than March 1st, 2018 or e-mail names and room requests to: . This information is needed to complete materials for the course and confirm hotel reservations. As previously stated, the TEA will pay for your ER Elect’s room for Saturday night. He/she will be responsible for all other expenses.

SPECIAL NOTE TO THE SECRETARY AND TRUSTEE: The Leadership Training committee would like to invite each of you to attend the ER Elect Training Seminar with your soon-to-be Exalted Ruler. At this time, the TEA cannot pay for your rooms, but we have negotiated a room rate for $73.44 for Secretaries and Trustees. If Secretaries and/or Trustees wish to attend and require additional room/rooms, please bring a check made out to Tennessee Elks Association for $73.44 per room. We look forward to having you as Secretary and a member of your Board of Trustees in attendance. We believe it will be interesting and informative for you also.

In an effort to increase participation and knowledge concerning our great organization, I offer the following suggestion. If your lodge officers are repeats and do not feel that the seminar would be helpful to them, send your cyber assistant or a new, energetic member who is desirous of moving up through the chairs or simply wants to be involved. TEA will pay for the one room regardless of who the representative is. It is the wish of this committee that EVERY lodge be represented as there are handouts and information presented that each lodge needs.

PGER Arthur H. Frost, III strongly urges all secretaries to attend this workshop. Please bring your CLEMS computer.

Enclosed please find registration forms for ER Elect, Secretary and Trustee. Please route these forms and information to those individuals.

Please note that your time at this workshop will be completely filled. Other than prior to noon on Saturday and after noon on Sunday, there will not be much, if any, free time for other activities. We will have a social hour at the Nashville-Franklin Lodge before dinner (on your own) on Saturday evening.

The motel is located at 4201 Franklin Commons Court in Franklin off Interstate 65 (exit 65). The lodge is a short distance from the hotel. There are several nearby restaurants and Galleria Mall is a short distance away. You are welcome to bring your spouse though there are no formal activities planned for them.

We look forward to seeing you in Franklin.
