Subject: Roadwork

Dear Foothills II Members,

All our roads will be “Fog Sealed” over four days fromTuesday, April 17 to Friday, April 20 – weather permitting (see details at foothillsii.com).This is important road maintenance intended to extend the life of our roads.

Those who have experienced this in the past know there will be some inconvenience that requires cooperation and planning. The board will alert the main postal delivery providers and Waste Management of our schedule. Be aware they may choose to delay service in some cases.

Please note:

  1. THE ENTRANCE GATE AND ROAD - As you can see on the attached map- the main access road, Windy Point Rd will be completed with one side on each day – allowing traffic in and out on all four days. However, no parking will be available on these streets.
  2. SIDE STREETS –Most other streets will need to be closed to traffic for one day, on their day of service, beginning at 7AM.
  3. CLEAR THE ROADS - All cars and any other material must be removed from the roadsthe night before the work is to begin. (See attached letter)
  4. Waste Management – Garbage pickup from Waste Management will occur very early Tuesday morning, approximately 6AM. Recycling will be delayed one week.
  5. PATIENCE –If the weather cooperateswe may be able to use the roads the same day. However, we need to prepare to stay off the surface for 24 hours unless the contractor takes down the barricades.

Suggestions:

Talk with your neighbors and see if you can park in their driveway on a day they are free and you are not.

For those able, perhaps parking outside the neighborhood, such as the Finger Rock Trailhead parking lot (hours allowed), the west side of Alvernon, etc. - may be an option.

Feel free to contact me with any questions:

Thanks for your cooperation in helping us take care of our neighborhood!

RESIDENTS OF FOOTHILLS II:

Sunland Asphalt has been contracted to perform a maintenance project in your area. The project is explained below.

FOG SEAL In this operation the streets will be swept clean and coated with an asphalt emulsion. During this operation the streets will be closed from 7:00am to 7:00am the following day. Traffic control barricades will be put in place. It is very important that you stay off the streets until the barricades are removed. All vehicles should be out of the work area before 7:00am or they will be towed off the work area at the owner’s expense. Sunland Asphalt and Foothills II will not be held liable for any damage that occurs during towing. A map of each day’s schedule is attached.

A FEW OTHER THINGS OF NOTE:

Outside watering should not be done on the day we are in your area. All sprinklers must be turned off and trash/recycle containers must be removed. Auto, foot, pet, and bicycle traffic must stay off the new seal coat approximately 24 hours or until the barricades are removed. Failure to do so may result in damage to cars, shoes, sidewalks, carpets, etc. Sunland Asphalt will not be responsible for any damages. Do not park where work will be performed or where it blocks traffic. Keep children and pets away from the construction for their own safety.

Fog seal cannot be applied in the wind, rain or if the weather is too cold. If any rescheduling needs to be done, you will be notified.

We understand there may be some inconvenience involved in this project, but if we work together we can keep it to a minimum and come out with excellent results.
