Welcome to the 2017 State Envirothon competition, April 5-7at Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana Al. The competition will begin with lunch on Thursday; station training 1:00-6:00. Friday 8:15-12:00 teams will participate in station testing as a team. Students will have some free time in the afternoon and will meet at 3:30 pm for presentation of the problem for oral presentation. We should finish around 2:30 pm on Saturday. You will need to bring alarm clocks, poster board, magic markers, scissors, tape, reference materials, etc,. please no glitter, whatever your team will need to prepare for presentation. Do not bring lap tops, they are not to be used to prepare for the presentation. They are not used at North American competition and we follow their rules. Dress will be casual, you may need a jacket and rain wear just in case.

Teams will wear their state envirothon t-shirt for Saturday presentations. Cost for 5 team members and one advisor is $798. This includes 7 meals and 2 nights lodging. Any additional participants will be an additional $133 based on space available. Food enroute and transportation are the responsibility of the team. The facility is on Lay Dam Lake and is perfect for our needs. Lodging will be in Morrison and Alfa dorms.

If you have already selected your team members please use the 2018 Alabama Envirothon Registration Form to register your team. Please list all team members, grades, gender and any alternate. Please list name and gender of advisors. Also list t-shirt sizes.

If you haven’t selected your team members for state, please use the 2017 Intent To Participate form to reserve your space, a county may bring 2 teams. Once you have selected your team please send me the 2018Alabama Envirothon Registration Form.

It is very important that you send me one of the forms to reserve space by January 31, 2018. For those who only send the Team Registration Form to reserve space, I will need your 2018 Registration Form with team names, etc by February 22 at the latest. I have to give the center the rooming list by March 6! I will need to order t-shirts and need your sizes. Rooms will be pre-assigned to make registration easier and faster. I also have to give the 4-H center a meal count.

Alternates and advisors can attend the training on Thursday. I will send additional information later.

COME JOIN THE FUN-----WE’LL HAVE A GREAT TIME!!
