Freshman-Sophomore State Championships

Instructions for Satellite Weigh-In Director

I.On Friday Morning you will receive an email with the weigh in list – print it off. Plan to have access to a scanner and ability to email as soon as weigh-ins are closed. Also be sure to make connection with the official for your site in the next day or so.

II. Be at your site early to set up your scale and check in table. Weigh-ins are from 5-7 pm.

III. You or a qualified adult will perform a skin check. Ask male entrants to drop the straps on their singlets. If there any questionable conditions, athlete must have the CHSAA form from a physician stating that s/he is cleared to compete. If you have any doubt about the safety of a condition, you may (and should) disqualify that individual. In this event, the Track Wrestling will NOT be refunded.

IV. Registration check-in will also record actual weights and check USAW cards for current membership. As this is a USA Wrestling event, athletes are allowed to make the weight any time during the weigh-in period; they are also allowed to check back in multiple times. If an athlete does not make the desired weight by the 7 pm cut-off, s/he may elect to enter the next higher weight class.

V. If females come to weigh in, ask them to change in their women’s locker/restroom into a singlet, then return to the weigh-in site. Let boys know she will be back, so they will be appropriately dressed. By USAW guidelines, all wrestlers are to weigh in wearing a competition singlet. No other gear, including socks, is to be worn. Enforce this to a reasonable level; kids can trade singlet or make a trip back to the car.

VI. If someone comes who is not on the list, take their name, date of birth, grade, school, city of residence, USA Card #, actual weight and $45. If the wrestler claims to have paid, make note on the registration and we will verify with the computer later. If the system missed them, and the wrestler did in fact pay, s/he will be refunded the $45. If the wrestler tried to register, but it didn’t go through, we will also refund the $15 extra fee. Refunds will be issued on the day of the tournament at the head table.

VII. At 7:00 pm, close the weigh in!
