Job Title:Reprographic Assistant/Counter Assistant

Responsible to:Team Leader

Location(s):Principally Edinburgh Copyshop52 St. Mary’s St,Edinburgh,EH1 1SX though some work may be required at other locations from time to time.

Salary :£ per hour with review after 3 month probationary period

Hours of work:9-5.30 Monday – Friday , Saturday 10-4.00pm, 30 minute lunch break (unpaid). Extra hours (usually at short notice) worked at normal rate of pay, at the discretion of the Branch Administrator and as business demands. Statutory sick pay scheme in operation. Pay monthly by bank transfer. 4 fixed Public Holidays ( Christmas and New Year)

Job Purpose:

The primary role will be to produce reprographic material/documents as required by the business . In addition assisting in the smooth running of the business – unloading vans and making deliveries on foot or by van. This will require this post acting as counter assistant in the established business of Edinburgh Copyshop.

Dimensions

The office currently is open 6 days per week. A staff equivalent to8 full time is scheduled. The area covered by the business is currently within the Lothians and central belt.

Role of the Branch

Adopting a professional approach to the production of graphic files and hardcopy, fit for resale to both trade and end users. Operating to deadlines observing both quality needed by the customer and profit margins needed by the company. As the branch is new there is a pioneering atmosphere where flexibility will be paramount.
Organisational Position

Key Result Areas

  • Producing digital print material, with the use of IT systems and print production equipment.
  • Supporting the administration of the business, by dealing with general office duties and counter salesas advised by the Branch Administrator or Team Leader
  • Handling customer calls, in person or by telephone or e mail, referring issues beyond the scope of this post to the Production Team Leader as necessary.
  • Reporting difficulties with equipment, supplies or customers to the Production Team Leader

Equipment

This job requires the post holder to be competent to carry out duties with the following equipment.Computers, printers, laminators, telephone, motor vehicles, guillotine, cash register, burglar alarm, software systems ( Microsoft , Adobe and Autodesk). Light physical effort.

Job Specification

Friendly, approachable, willing to learn, previous customer care experience, punctual, team worker, self starter and completer finisher, good communicator, responsible, reliable, a high degree of numerical accuracy in data entry, flexible approach to work, ability to prioritise, smartly presented, IT literacy ( training on specifics will be provided) and sense of humour.
