Fremont Center, NY March 9, 2016

The meeting was brought to order with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7 pm. Present at the meeting was Supervisor George Conklin III, Councilmen Paul Kellam, John Meyer, and Brian Brustman, Highway Superintendent John Hubert, Building Inspector Jim McElroy, Planning Board Chairman Jim Smith, Planning Board member Pam Reinhardt, Historian Shirley Rangaves and Town Clerk Diane Hess. Councilman Louis Milucky was absent.

A motion to accept last month’s minutes with a correction of dogs for dues was made by Councilman Brian Brustman, seconded by Councilman John Meyer and carried with all ayes.

A legal will be placed in the Sullivan County Democrat for bids on the stone, sand, fuels, etc. The bids will be opened at the meeting on April 13th.

Supervisor George Conklin read a letter from John Bonacic in response to the Supervisor’s letter to him regarding the Long Eddy Access.

Also read a letter from Planning Board Jim Smith regarding the town web site that he manages for the town. The cost is around $200. He has graciously donated this to the town. He asked for a letter from the Board to use this as a tax deduction. A motion was made to do this by Councilman Brian Brustman, seconded by Councilman Paul Kellam and carried with all ayes.

Supervisor spoke briefly concerning the all the towns, villages, and highway superintendents meeting together to discuss sharing some of the tax revenue that will be coming to the county from the new casino.

Corky Karkkainen ask the board if they would write a letter to Renaissance stating their approval of his plans for his project regarding the Mileses Cemetery. A motion was made to do this by Councilman Brian Brustman, seconded by Councilman John Meyer and carried with all ayes.

Building Inspector Jim McElroy spoke briefly about zoning laws concerning solar power and other changes for zoning.

Loreen Geberlein asked if the town would donate $500 again this year to the Fremont Ball Park. The board ok’d this. She also spoke regarding the monetary problems the cemetery has been having.

A motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 pm was made by Councilman Paul Kellam, seconded by Councilman Brian Brustman and carried with all ayes.
