Breckland Council includes a large amount of information on the website – We have produced a Publication Scheme, also available on the website, which lists information readily available on request. If, however, you would like information about the Council that is not included on our website or Publication Scheme, please submit your request in writing.

The Freedom of information Act 2000 section 8 states that all requests should be made in writing, and should include your name and postal address. We may charge you for providing the information. The following form may help you submit your request, although you may of course put your request in a letter. You can download this form and e-mail your request to: or post it to The FOI Officer, Breckland Council, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1EE.

It is important that you clearly identify the information you would like. For example, it is too vague to ask for “any documents on car parks” – you would need to be more specific and perhaps include a particular town.

When the Council has enough information to enable it to identify the request and ascertain if a fee needs to be paid, we will then have 20 working days to comply with the request. If we cannot provide the information you will be informed the reasons why.

How to use the form

1.Print out the form, hand-write your request and post it to the address shown above.

2.Save the form to your pc, type in your details and either print it out and post to the address above, or download this form and e-mail the completed form to: .
