Documents required for TOURISM

  1. Visa application form.
  2. One recent passport-style photo.
  3. Passport or travel document valid for at least three months after the visa expiry date(Please note: the passport should have at least 2 blank pages for visa and stamps of custom authorities).
  4. Proof of residence in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan andYukon (e.g. driver’s license).
  5. Permanent ResidentCard or Canadian VISA (Please note: your Canadian work or student visa must be valid for 60 days past your intended stay in Italy).
  6. Return-trip booking or ticket.
  7. Proof of lodging in Italy and Europe for the entire trip: hotel reservationand/or letter of invitation. Theletter of invitation from a relative or a friend permanently residing in Italyhas to be emailed or faxed from Italy to the Consulate General by the person inviting, together with a copy of his/her picture ID.
  8. Proof of economic means of support (as per Ministry of Interior Directive 1.3.2000):last three months’personal bank statements (your name must be clearly visible on the bank statements). If you are self-employed, you must also provide a business bank statement, a business income tax return and a business notice of assessment for the previous year.If you need somebody’s financial support, you must provide a letter of support, to be signed in front of the consular officer or a notary public, together with a copy of his/her picture ID and his/her last three months` bank statements.
  9. Documentation of socio-professional standing (letter from employer or business license or letter from the University/School you are attending).The letter from your employer, maximum one week old, must state your full name, position with the company, date of employment,confirmation that the vacation period has been authorized and that the position with the company will be maintained. If you are self-employed, please provide the business licensefor your company.
  10. Health insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 for emergency hospital and repatriation expenses. Proof of coverage must include a statement with your name, the period and amount of coverage, and the conditions of the contract. An optional supporting form can be completed by theinsurance company.
  11. Visa fee:must be paid in Canadian dollars only, by cash or money order payable to the "CONSULATE GENERAL OF ITALY- VANCOUVER ". Please visit our websitefor current fees.
