FREEDOM OF INFORMATION – APPLICATION REFERENCE 2016/59
Thank you for your application under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("the Act") in relation to CFOA AGM September 2016within Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.
The request is:
Q1. Is your Fire and Rescue Authority (FRA) currently part of a public tender for personal protective equipment (PPE) for firefighters as:
a) A public tender issued by your fire and rescue authority?
b) A public tender via the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), PPE consortium arrangements?
c) A public tender via another consortium?
Q2. Are any of your fire and rescue service staff involved in the PPE evaluation/testing arrangements as part of the any of the above public tenders?
Q3. Are any of your fire and rescue staff involved in the CFOA consortium management arrangements.
Q4. Is your Chief Fire Officer or any other member of staff intending to participate in the Golf Day being organised and hostedby the CFOA Sponsors of their AGM,the response forthe
attendance is a reply back to PBI Products Limited(the suppliers of firefighting protective fabrics), being held on 11 September 2016 at the Belfry Golf Course, West Midlands.
The CFOA AGM is sponsored by PBI Products, Ballylare (another PPE Provider)and Airwave.
Q5. If your Chief Fire Officer or any other member of staff are intending to be at the above sponsored golf day:
a) What is the value of the hospitality being provided?
b) Will the hospitality of the sponsored golf be declared as part of the FRA's hospitality policy?
c) Are the staff being recorded as on duty or on leave for the golfing event?
The response is:
Q1. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is not currently taking an active role in any tender process relating to PPE.
Q2. No Humberside Fire and Rescue staff currently involved in any testing of PPE
Q3. No Humberside Fire and Rescue staff are involved with consortium management arrangements.
Q4. I can confirm that the Chief Fire Officer (or any other members of Humberside Fire and Rescue Service staff) will not be participating in the Golf Day on 11th September.
Q5. I can confirm that the Chief Fire Officer (or any other members of Humberside Fire and Rescue Service staff) will not be at the above sponsored Golf Day.
If you do not feel that I have handled your request in accordance with the Act, you can ask for an Internal Review. Such as request should be made within 2 months of the date of this email. If you are not happy with the outcome of the Internal Review, you have the right to apply direct to the Information Commissioner.
