Facilities Monitoring Officer Aug 2008 - Present

East London Mental Health Foundation Trust (Homerton Hospital):

Responsible for 21 community clinics across The City and Hackney Borough. These clinics offer Healthy Options, Mind Advocacy, Special Addictions Units, Children’s Services, and Crisis Centres for Mental Health. And also provide hard and soft FM, medication and support from teams within the mental health service, health visiting, dementia support, occupational health services and support around drug dependencies. Heavily involved in auditing cleaning and infection control services and solving maintenance issues.

·  Liaising closely with, and improving the service users’ experience.
·  Carrying out PEAT inspections in liaison with Clinical Staff, Estates and Facilities, and Infection Control.
·  Attending patient forums on a regular basis - working at St. Clements Hospital for example, as Chief Liaison for Mental Health Services. Resolving issues with Estates and Facilities.
·  As Chief Liaison for the Trust, oversaw a £1.5 million refurbishment of a 10 bedded mother and baby ward.
·  Ensuring services comply with the NHS’s 49 guidelines and KPIs with weekly inspections. Reporting on all areas. Complying of relevant legislation, guidance, directions and good practice. Attending and chairing contract evaluation meetings.
·  Identified and addressed shortfalls and made quality recommendations that improved services.
·  Instrumental in modernizing the MHU at St Clements to Mile End Hospital that enhanced the patients’ services without incurring extra costs.
·  Project Managed:
-  a departmental move that involved 24 admin staff from the John Howard Forensic Center to Homerton MHU. This involved a total refurbishment of departmental areas, and the transfer of all data / IT points.
-  I also led the installation of the Pinpoint Security System at Homerton Hospital (the Pinpoint System’s purpose is to prevent injury to staff personnel the public and service users. cost of installing pinpoint was in excess of £250K. I was also the Chief Liaison and Project Manager to completion. This covered 8 wards and all departmental area.
-  As Lead Trainer (on completion), I trained users that included setting up service contracts and maintenance checks.
·  Developed contract specifications and delivered sustainable healthcare designs.
·  Defined contract standards, devised penalty clauses and took part in conceptions to the award of contracts.
·  Designed and implemented a quality auditing framework on all services (soft FM and hard FM).
·  Measured adherence and contract failures and identifying and taking resolution actions.
·  Developed new and existing services with internal and external service providers.
·  Awarded 3 Green Lights by the HCC.

·  On Secondment to Commission Barkantine Poly Clinic, Isle of Dogs (Dec 2007 - Mar 2008). (The centre holds 16 GP practices, a walk in Dental Service and state of the art Birthing Centre). Recruited on all levels for Domestic Services. Implemented rotas and schedules, Health and Safety policies, COSHH regulations, Fire Training, Evacuation Procedures, Infection Control Regulations, Waste Management Practices, laundry services and monthly Inspections.

Site Service Manager / Contract Manager Jul 2006 - Aug 2008

Global Solutions Limited:

As Site Services Manager, Tower Hamlets PCT at Mile End Hospital (Feb 07 to Aug 08); managed a team of 32 staff across 3 departments, responsible for 1-1s, training, disciplinary procedures, return to work interviews, holiday requests. Employed agency staff when needed. Worked closely with the Trust’s Management and met operational requirements and enhanced the service users’ experience.

As Contract Manager, St Clements Hospital, London (Jul 06 until Feb 07); decommissioned / re-commissioned St Clements Hospital, Bow Road to the modern Mental Health Unit based at THPCT Mile End Road.

·  Also provided and managed a number of key areas including portering helpdesk, receptions (for both PCT and MHU) plus waste management, post room services and company vehicle fleet.
·  Acted as On-Call Manager for THPCT and MHU.
·  Implemented and managed operational policies, practices and procedures and proposed changes when necessary.
·  Extensive liaison with the PCT and MHU Trust included audit trails and peat inspections.
·  Coordinated all staff training.
·  Investigated all complaints within the set timescales, and made procedural recommendations.
