Greetings,
Back to school greetings Bronco families! I want to start off the year with some great news about our student performance in 2015-2016. As you may already know, we have continued to progress forward in each of the last four years with our academic proficiency, hitting the 83% mark this year. Today the state announced school performance growth composite scores and school performance grades.Once again, our students and staff knocked it out of the park with not only high growth for the third straight year, but also showing the highest growth of any middle school in CMS!In order for schools to average more than a year's worth of academic growth for students, a composite score of +2.0 or better must be achieved. Bailey students score +9.95 in 2015-2016, which will certainly rank us pretty high across all of North Carolina. Therefore, the combination of our academic proficiency and outstanding growth now moves us to an "A" Rated School for the North Carolina School Report Card! :-) Our goal of becoming the best middle school in North Carolina will continue to be a work in progress, yet these two achievements by our students and staff are certainly a big step in the right direction! I hope each of our families feels proud of the work our school and community achieved together in 2015-2016, and looks forward to continuing our history of excellence this year. "Greatness is a choice"... we choose to be great at Bailey!
I also want to invite our parents toCurriculum Night on September 13 at 6:15 pm. We will provide multiple sessions so parents with students in different grades can attend each session. I realize that fall extracurricular activities have begun, but please try to arrange for someone to attend. This is an event for parents so students or siblings do not need to attend as space is always a consideration with school wide events.
Finally, ourBack-To-School Picnic is scheduled for Friday, September 23 from 4:30-6:30 pm. Please encourage your Bronco to attend, as it's a great event for our students to enjoy a little free time with their friends in a carnival-type setting. Please know that we invite families to attend as well. However, you may want to clear that through your middle schooler... :-)

Super-hero Volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who has filled out a "Volunteer Opportunities" form and stepped up to volunteer this year! Volunteering helps great things happen for our students. It is wonderful to see the parents willing to spend time at our school, but we can always use more!
If you haven't signed up yet, there are many opportunities throughout the year. Check out the weekly Bronco Times and ourPTSA websitefor up-coming events. The school and kids need your time and talents!
Please remember toregister with CMSbefore volunteering, and add Bailey as one of your volunteer schools. /
If you have any questions about volunteering or want to add your name as a volunteer, please contact our PTSA Volunteer Coordinator,Amy Gais. We look forward to seeing you at BMS!
