Frederick Community College – Associate in Applied Science Degree in Emergency Management

Track I: FEMA Independent Study

Provides students with a broad education in emergency management. Focuses on preparedness and the skills needed to organize and lead emergency management operations. Track I utilizes a prior learning assessment of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Independent Study courses and validation with distance education modules. This option requires students to demonstrate their learning through an instructor-led, five-week module with discussion boards, proctored exams, and college-level essays.

Provides students with a broad education in emergency management. Focuses on preparedness and the skills needed to organize and lead emergency management operations. Option II allows regional students to earn their degree in a hybrid format through a combination of online and on-campus courses. Students should consult with the Program Manager before enrolling.
