THIRD GRADE
When purchasing school supplies for your child, please consider the following third grade materials for the coming school year:
1. Two (2) marble notebooks (9 ¾ X 7 ½)
2. Two (2) 8 ½ x 11 five(5) subject notebooks with tab dividers
3. One (1) pack of wide-ruled loose leaf paper
4. At least 24 yellow #2 pencils for classroom work (NO DECORATED or MECHANICAL PENCILS)
5. A zippered pencil pouch – NO PENCIL BOXES!
6. Three (3) red pens for proofreading work
7. Five (5) laminated pocket folders
8. Set of colored pencils and crayons – no markers!
9. Five (5) Glue sticks – NO LIQUID GLUE!
10. One (1) pack of large pink erasers (pink pearl)
11. Five (5) highlighters
12. Five (5) Dry erase markers and One (1) dry erase eraser
13. One (1) pair of Scissors
14. 1 package of post-it notes
15. Two (2) LARGE boxes of tissues
16. Hand Sanitizer
17. One (1) package of cleaning wipes
GRADE 3 EXPECTATIONS
Students entering the third grade in the fall should know by memory addition and subtraction basic facts through 18; multiplication basic facts through 25; how to capitalize and punctuate a sentence correctly; how to write a complete thought; how to write lower case letters in cursive handwriting.
Third graders will assemble on the upper playground by 8:45 A.M. Children should stand in a line when the bell rings behind their classroom number. Late bell rings at 8:50 A.M.
DISMISSAL
Dismissal for all third grade classes is at 3:05 P.M. Rooms 17 and 18 will dismiss on the lower playground.
Rooms 13, 14 and 16 will dismiss at the exit across the street from the teacher’s parking lot.
