Scholarships offered by the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering (contingent on the availability of funds):

FRANK H. DOTTERWEICH COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:

There are 2 levels of renewable scholarships for new freshmen and new transfers scholarship for students: Level I: worth $2,000 ($1,000 per long semester) & Level II: worth $1,000 ($500 per long semester). To be eligible for one of these scholarships you must be a designated engineering major, and you must be registered full time on the TAMUK main campus, and meet the following criteria:

CRITERIA FOR NEW FRESHMEN SCHOLARSHIPS

·  A test score of 28+ on the ACT or *1250+ on the SAT AND a high school GPA of 3.60 OR have completed 15+ dual credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or better (in dual credit hours only) for a Level I scholarship

·  A test score of 25+ on the ACT or *1170+ on the SAT AND a high school GPA of 3.4 or better OR have completed 12+ dual credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better (in dual credit hours only) for a Level II scholarship

*only critical reading and math scores on SAT are used in determining eligibility for scholarships

CRITERIA FOR NEW TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS

·  3.6-4.0 GPA with 16+ credit hours for a Level I scholarship

·  3.4-3.59 GPA for a Level II scholarship

(Students with less than 16 semester credit hours must meet New Freshman Scholarship criteria.)

New Freshmen/New Transfer Student scholarships are renewable up to 4 years or until graduation (whichever comes first), however, the students must meet the following criteria for renewal:

RENEWAL CRITERIA (for both New Freshman & Transfer Students)

·  Level I: GPA of 3.5+ must enroll for and successfully complete 15 semester credit hours each long term semester. If student falls below a 3.5, but maintains a 3.25 or better, a Level II will be awarded in place of the Level I. The student must then meet the renewal criteria for a Level II scholarship.

·  Level II: GPA of 3.25+ must enroll for and successfully complete 15 semester credit hours each long term semester.

December 15th for Fall Semesters (Incoming New Freshmen)

April 1st (for Transfer Students)

April 1st (for Current Students)
