SOME TIPS FOR GARDENING WITHOUT PESTICIDES

ORGANIC LAWNS | 5 TIPS FOR HEALTHY LAWNS

Organic lawns aren’t just healthier; once established, they’re less expensive and less time-consuming to maintain. Whether you’re hiring a professional or doing it yourself, adopt a “buyer beware” mindset. When choosing an organic lawn care company, hire a NOFA-accredited firm — one that’s been trained by the Northeast Organic Farming Association and that agrees to abide by its care standards. Here are five steps to lush, healthy, organic lawns:

EASY ORGANIC LAWN TIPS

You have to be out of touch with the earth if you haven’t heard about all the concerns using chemical fertilizers & insecticides. But what if your lawn has issues & you think the only way to have green grass is to use synthetic fertilizers & pesticides? A few organic lawn tips can save you money and you’ll feel good about your environment. If you have children or pets, you’ll be creating a safer place for them. Why do you have all these problems with your lawn? Chemical fertilizers & pesticides only cover-up issues you have instead of fixing the lawn problem. That’s why they have to be applied year after year. Follow these how-to organic lawn tips & steps & soon your family will be enjoying a beautiful natural yard

GRASS CUTTING & MAINTENANCE TIPS

Cutting your grass short during the heat of summer or cutting with a dull blade any time of year will damage and wither the grass.

It also invites weeds to your lawn, especially crabgrass.

ACTIONS TOWARD A HEALTHIER WORLD!

TELL THE USDA TO TEST FOR ROUNDUP IN OUR FOOD!

The FDA and the USDA regularly test our food for residues of hundreds of pesticides. But until recently, both agencies were not testing for glyphosate. Last month the FDA finally agreed to start testing certain foods for glyphosate residues. This is the first time in the FDA’s history that it will test for glyphosate in foods like milk, eggs, soybeans and corn. Its decision comes after a public outcry and a condemnation from the Government Accountability Office for failing to conduct these tests and publicly disclose them. But the USDA is still lagging behind.
