November: A Month of Remembrance: During the month of November we
remember our dead. We have a Special Space in the Church throughout the month which will serve as a focal point for our remembrance.
‘A Time to remember, a time to recall…’ On Friday 18th November at 7.30pm we will have a special Prayer Service in remembrance of all who have passed on in the past year. It will be an opportunity for quiet prayer and reflection and all are welcome. There will be a cup of tea afterwards in the Parish Centre.
During November Masses that do not have an anniversary will be offered
for our deceased except on Wednesdays. These will be indicated in the Mass timetable for theweek throughout November.
Anniversary Masses: when booking an Anniversary or Months Memory please
write the names of the person(s) and/or family into the Diary on the Altar Rail.
Mass of Thanksgiving with Bishop Liam MacDaid: St Macartan’s Cathedral,
Monaghan, on Sunday next, 20 November, at 3pm, followed by
refreshments in the Hillgrove Hotel nearby. Everyone is welcome.All those
attending are asked to bring a candle (of any size) for a short Ceremony of Light
at the conclusion of the Mass. Separate candles will also be lighted, which will go to
each church and oratory in the diocese to accompany our prayers as we await the
appointment of a new bishop. The event will be live-streamed via the diocesan
website
Anyone who would like to travel as part of the parish delegation please write your
name and telephone number on the sheets available at all exits of the Church.
Baptisms: Dates and times for Baptisms are Pettigo 2nd Saturday of each month
at 6.00pm and Ederney 4th Sunday of each month at 12 noon.

Monaghan Charismatic prayer group have arranged a Pilgrimage of Prayer and Reflection for Saturday 19th November in the Cathedral to help celebrate the closing of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. See church notice board for details.

The Holy Rosary is said in the Church every evening: Sunday- Friday 6-30pm, Saturday at 5-15pm. (Except Thursdays).Everyone most welcome.
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recited on Monday and Friday evenings at 7pm at the Divine Mercy Shrine in St. Joseph’s Church.
Mass Servers: The new lists for Mass servers is now being updated. SecondarySchool Mass Servers are asked to pick up their Mass serving forms after Mass in the sacristy. Servers who are retiring please notify Fr McManus during the next week. The new serving teams will be enrolled in both Montiagh and Ederney on Sunday 27th November.
Children in Crossfire: Shauna O’Neill from Children in Crossfire will speak at Masses this weekend 12th & 13Th November about their work in Tanzania and Ethiopia. Children in Crossfire focus on providing clean safe water, heath care, nutrition and Education for young children. With the recent drought in Ethiopia food prices have risen drastically and there are a lot more people in need of aid at this time. CIC are expanding the work to reach 6 new regions of Ethiopia to helpas many children and families as possible with your support.
