Founders Day Competition rules and registration
Be one of the first Line Dance Teams to register!
Registration Deadline is June 30, 2018. NO REGISTRATION FEE!
General rules:
- Good Sportsmanship must be exhibited at all times.
- Offensive or vulgar gestures, costumes, or song lyrics are prohibited.
- Each team will select a captain who will be responsible for completing and submitting the Team Registration form.
- Competitors can be any age, however, a team younger than 14 years old must have an adult as Team Captain, whether the
captain dances or not.
- The organizers have the right to cancel the competition.
- All competitors must sign a liability release and consent to unrestricted use of their photos, video and nameswhich may appear
in the event videos, websites and future events.
- The organizers have the right to eject anyone from the premise for unruly conduct.
Line Dance Team Competition:
- Teams must consist of a minimum of four (4) people.
- Teams may not have over 12 competitors in a line dance.
- Routines must be at least 3 minutes and no longer than 5 minutes. Entrances and Exits count towards the time limit.
- Teams will be judged on originality, choreography, showmanship and synchronization. Appropriate costumesand props are
permitted.
- All types of Randolph County groups are welcome to enter, i.e. sports teams, church, school, work, and familygroups.
- First come first serve, there are only 22 competitor spaces available.
- A team member or members must attend at least one of four practice dates where they will learn a danceto the song of
their choice.
- If not all team members can attend a practice, a team captain or member can come to a practice and learn the routine, then video it
to teach to their team.
- Unless specifically requested and approved, only the following songs will be allowed: The Champion,
The Cupid Shuffle, Uptown Funk, Bang Bang, Love Shack, The Fighter, Hand Clap and Fireball.
