Action Against Hunger is seeking a Bilingual Communications Volunteer to help grow Action Against Hunger’s reach through social media and engage existing donors in both French and English.

Specific Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist the staff with communications planning;
  • Conduct research on potential donors, strategic partners, markets;
  • Monitor and collect analytics and prepare reports;
  • Media monitoring and tracking;
  • Draft clear, concise and compelling blog posts, email copy and social media posts;
  • Help with translation of press releases, posts, and emails;
  • Attend department and staff meetings;
  • Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing and research skills in both French and English
  • Experience and comfort with and creating content for a variety of social media platforms;
  • Some familiarity with social media metrics and stats collection;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google applications;
  • Desire to learn more about international development and humanitarian aid;
  • Creative and detail-oriented;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • A “can do” attitude and desire to learn;
  • Ability to follow instructions and also work independently;
  • A demonstrated commitment to Action Against Hunger’s mission and values;
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite considered an asset.

Hours, Start Date and Duration

  • Flexible within business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm).
  • A firm commitment of 1-2 workdays per week (minimum) for a duration of 6 months.
