Forward Farm LLC Training Lease Contract 2017

The following document describes specifications of equine services performed by Forward Farm LLC. Any segment of this document may be modified upon agreement of client and trainer.

Training: $875/month

Includes horse maintenance and general care. Horse is typically worked 5 times per week to maintain condition or build skills. Includes all horse care such as feeding, watering, stall cleaning, grooming, clipping and tail maintenance. Also, includes use of grooming supplies and work equipment (work bridles, harnesses, jog carts, etc..) and management of horse care such as dietary needs, farrier and veterinary schedule. Owner is responsible for vet, farrier, additional supplements, chiropractor, insurance, and massage therapy. Includes up to 2 lessons (group or private) per week, lessons cannot be carried over to the next week. Horses will be trained on the specific needs of the horse as well as the communicated goals of the owner. Activities included in daily workouts will be left to the discretion of trainers at Forward Farm LLC. Horses arriving mid-month will be pro-rated from the arrival day. Horses leaving mid-month will not be reimbursed for training fees. Training is due at the first of each month. Late fees of $10 per day will be enforced after the 10th day of the month. If a client intends to transport horse to another facility, Forward Farm LLC reserves the right to hold the horse on the premises until outstanding training/vet/farrier or additional fees have been paid.

Partial Lease on School Horse (Indoor): $450/month

Forward Farm will permit a partial lease option when a school horse is also utilized in lesson program or shared by two riders, both partially leasing. Includes all horse care as described in training. Lessee is responsible for half of vet, farrier, additional supplements, chiropractic, and massage therapy as needed. Includes 1 group lesson per week. Forward Farm LLC reserves right to take horse to shows with lessee reserving first rights to show. Lease period is 1 year.

Please Note: Trainer will determine if horse is suitable to live outside or inside. Factors such as diet, shoeing, soundness, and temperament affect horse’s ability to live outdoors.

Partial Lease on School Horse (Outdoor): $300/month

Forward Farm LLC-owned horse is utilized in lesson program in addition to being leased. Includes outdoor board for the horse. Leasee is responsible for half of vet and farrier, chiropractic, and massage bills. Includes 1 group lesson per week. Lessee will have first rights to the specified horse in competition, but may be shared by additional riders. Lease period is 1 year.

Show Horse Lease:

Monthly pricing defined in individual agreement. Will include a lease fee of 20% of the value of horse due at the starting date of lease or 10% in a half lease. Will require horse to be maintained in training throughout the duration of lease. May be half leased or fully leased at the discretion of owner and trainer. Lessee will be responsible for all or half of the costs of farrier, insurance, vet, additional supplements, chiropractor, and massage therapy. Lease period is 1 year.

Partial Lease on a Show Horse- $550/month

Includes horse maintenance and general care. Horse is typically worked 3 times per week to maintain condition or build skills. Includes all horse care such as feeding, watering, stall cleaning, grooming, clipping and tail maintenance. Also, includes use of grooming supplies and work equipment (work bridles, harnesses, jog carts, etc.) and management of horse care such as dietary needs, farrier, and veterinary schedule. Lessee is responsible for half vet, farrier, additional supplements, chiropractor, insurance, and massage therapy. Includes 1 lesson per week (group or private) lessons cannot be carried over to the next week.

Lessons/Free riding

In addition to horse conditioning, training also includes one scheduled group lesson per week for the specified client associated with the horse. This lesson can be conducted on the training horse or a lesson horse (as to the discretion of the trainer), to maintain the conditioning of the horse, the owner will be allotted one lesson per week on their training horse unless otherwise indicated by the trainer. “Free riding” is not permitted on training horses without permission of the trainer. Additional lessons may be taken on lesson horses. Lessons are non-transferable and cannot be carried over from week to week. While Forward Farm LLC will act in its best effort to promote safety of both the horse and rider/driver, the client understands that there is an inherent risk in all equestrian sports and the client will not hold Forward Farm LLC, or any of its employees responsible for any bodily injury to the client or any person that they bring on the farm. Forward Farm LLC also claims no responsibility to any loss of use, lameness, or mortality of the client’s horse.

Trailering

Training horses are only to be trailered by approved parties of the trainer/barn manager. If Forward Farm LLC is not receiving payment for trailering we are not responsible to help load or unload the horse from the trailer. Seven days’ notice should be given to the trainer, if the owner intends to have a horse trailered by themselves or a third party, trainer may approve or deny the request. Should a third party be approved to trailer the horse, the trailer should be parked properly on the premise for loading and will not be stored on the Forward Farm LLC premises for an extended period. This is to ensure the safety of the horse and handlers involved in the trailering process.

Insurance

Mandatory insurance (at minimum Major Medical) is required on all training horses appraised at over $20,000. Insurance is encouraged on all training horses appraised at over $5000. Forward Farm LLC will offer guidance to clients who inquire, regarding proper insurance measures for their horse.

Additional Horse Maintenance

It is up to the discretion of the trainer/barn manager, appropriate care necessary to maintain proper condition of the horse. The client is responsible for this care. Services include but are not limited to routine vet work, teeth maintenance, farrier work, chiropractic, and massage care and/or acupuncture. The necessity of the care will be discussed with the client prior to treatment. If an outside equine professional (including but not limited to vet, farrier, chiropractor, or masseuse) is left unpaid for an unreasonable period, without payments, the fees will be added to the upcoming month’s training bill. In the event of an emergency, Forward Farm LLC reserves the right to contact veterinary assistance without discussion with the client. The client will be responsible for treatment as well as any emergency response fees of the veterinarian.

Damage

Damage by horse or client to stall, equipment, tack, property, buildings or fencing at Forward Farm LLC will be charged to client. This is beyond everyday normal wear and tear.

Horse Shows/Outside Events

Extra costs will be charged to the client if the horse is brought to a show. These may include, but are not limited to, trucking costs, show entries, day supply fees, hotel, and bedding for the show. Price lists will be available at the client’s request. Body clipping a horse for any purpose including show will be an extra charge to the client. The trainer will decide if body clipping is necessary whether a horse is going to a show or for any reason. Any horse going to a show will have its own show sheets and blanket of the same style as the farm. Clients will also be expected to provide if necessary, show bridles, tail sets, leather halters, sleazy hood, heavy hood, saddle, bits, girth, saddle pads, groom box, tail set accessories (fuzzies, tail nets, etc…) It is the responsibility of the horse’s owner to keep all equipment and blankets clean. Forward Farm LLC will give guidance and approval of what vendors and what style is appropriate in these items.

The trainer holds the right to authorize or decline a horse as suitable to attend a horse show based on their training evaluation. If a horse is brought to a horse show without the consent of the trainer, the horse is considered “pulled” from training and will not return to the stable. This consent is based upon the safety of the horse, rider, and handlers, reputation of Forward Farm LLC’s trainers as well as the training regime of the horse.

Other

Forward Farm LLC reserves the right to decide which customers or horses to refuse outside training services to without the need for explanation. We also reserve the right to terminate services for any reason including but not limited to late payments, conflicts with other clients, conflicts with the owners or trainer, disregard of farm policies or a horse that will not work in our training program.

To insure the safety of clients and horses, it is necessary that Forward Farm LLC has set barn hours in which clients can visit their horses. These hours, unless otherwise specified by appointment, will run Monday through Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8am to 5pm. The barn will be closed on Thursdays and Sundays. The barn manager has the right to close the barn to visitors at any additional times with no prior notice to clients. If no Forward Farm employees are present in the barn, clients are not to enter horses’ stalls or to take horses out of their stalls without permission from a Forward Farm LLC employee. For the safety of our people and animals a 10 MPH speed limit down the drive into the farm is appreciated. Please do not go to the house for any reason since it is private residence.

Prices can be changed at any time; Forward Farm LLC will give clients fair warning of these changes.

I understand that there is a risk associated with all equestrian sports and no trainer or owner can eliminate all these risks. I understand that I place my horse in this program with the knowledge that Forward Farm LLC will care for the horse to the best of their ability but is not responsible for any damage to the animal or equipment.
