This Formulation Scientist will work with a talented cross functional team, who support growth in our leading global markets developing new solid dosagesoft gel products for markets around the world. This team works with solid dosage delivery forms, including tablets, capsules, and soft gel capsules. This individual will lead soft gel formula design, ingredient assessments, excipient selection and usage, design of product profile, etc. An understanding of material characterization and adjustment, blend, soft gel processes, and physical properties knowledge, will be essential.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to:
- Introduce industry leading product and soft gel formulation technologies to the Product Development team
- Deliver technical specifications for finished goods based on research and data collection resulting in high quality products
- Lead the formulation of soft gel and solid dosage forms for assigned products
- Plan and execute the bench formulation, specification, lab analysis, pilot plant trials, and project coordination to deliver projects on time in a cost effective manner
- Develop and advance expertise in nutrition science and technology areas within the team
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver innovative product options
- Research and identify industry trends and provide thought leadership on targeted product categories
The accomplished individual will possess:
- Minimum 4 years Product Development experiencewith soft gel formulation
- Background developing solid dosage products in a pharmaceutical or nutraceutical setting
- Proven exposures in ingredient assessments, formula and delivery form design, and product profile design
- Progressive experiences with Bench top development, pilot scales up, validation protocols, and manufacturing exposures
- Background demonstrating driving projects to commercialization
- Strong communication skills with interest and ability to work cross culturally
- Customer focused mindset demonstrating support for competing priorities
The strong professional will have the following academic accomplishments:
- BS degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Industrial Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- MS or PhD desirable
