“FOREVER BROTHERS” PROJECT

BROTHERS FOREVER

V1.

We don’t always see eye to eye,

You’ve got your ways and I’ve got mine,

But through it all we’ll always pull together.

When it comes to push and shove,

You’re quick to lend a hand of love,

The blood runs deep, brothers forever.

Chorus:

We all have the same heavenly Father,

Our bragging right’s children of the King,

Our pedigree is deep from Adam to you and me,

United in the Lord we’ll stand together,

We’re next of kin, brothers forever.

V2:

We don’t know what tomorrow will bring,

We know the good Lord knows our name,

It makes us strong in each of our endeavors.

If you reach home before my time,

Remember I’m not far behind,

Through life or death we’ll still be brothers forever.

WORKING FOR MY GOOD

Workin’ for my good. Workin’ for my good.

V1:

Life was common place it seemed,

Full of ordinary things,

I was wondering where the road would lead.

And when I looked into His word,

My suspicions were confirmed,

That He was doing things I could not see, just for me!

Chorus:

He was working for my good, all on my behalf,

Guiding every step, lighting up my path.

Planning up my days, putting me together,

Molding me from clay, making something better,

Before I understood, He was working for my good.

V2:

You and I are in His hand,

He’s building from a Master plan,

Making sure the pieces fit just right.

He’s working from the inside out,

And when he’s done there’ll be no doubt,

We will be just what he had in mind, all the time!

Chorus

Bridge:

He’s molding and making, cutting and shaping,

Like He said he would.

He’s pressing and turning, carefully working,

All things for my good, for my good.

Chorus

LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS

V1:

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,

Leaning on the everlasting arms;

What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,

Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Chorus:

Leaning, I’m leaning, safe and secure from all alarm,

Leaning, I’m leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

V2:

Oh how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,

Leaning on the everlasting arms;

Oh how bright the path grows from day to day,

Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Chorus 2x

WHAT CHILDREN BELIEVE

V1:

Saturday morning, at a tree-house meeting,

in our back yard;

Over Kool-aid and crackers, you could hear through the laughter;

Just how smart they are.

With crayons they wrote down the things they believe,

Oh the wisdom in first grade philosophy.

Chorus:

Love lasts forever, mom and daddies stay together,

Cheaters never win and a promise is, something you keep,

It’s bad to lie. And it’s okay to cry,

Dreams never die and faith is all you need,

Ain’t it crazy what children believe.

V2:

Sometimes I wish I didn’t know what I didn’t know then,

My world was so small, back before all of this trouble we’re in,

When right and wrong mattered, and truth was in style,

And hope could be seen through the eyes of a child.

Chorus

Bridge:

A world without hate - where people still cared,

What a wonderful place this would be if we lived where…

Chorus

DON’T IT MAKE YOU WANT TO GO

V1:

Have you ever thought about what’s in store,

In that city that’s built on high,

Where unkind words are never heard no more,

No tear will ever fill our eyes

There you can roam and always feel at home,

Where the weather is always fine,

And you can do anything you wanna do,

And never have to worry ‘bout the time

Chorus:

Don’t you wanna go, to that home on high,

Where we’ll live and never die,

Sit down by the river of life - linger just a little while.

Walk a little farther down the streets of gold,

See Jesus and the saints of old,

Talk about the half that ain’t been told,

Don’t it make you wanna go.

V2:

The more I get to thinking ‘bout Paradise,

The more it makes me want to go,

How Jesus wrote my name in the Book of Life,

And His blood washed me white as snow.

Whenever I read God’s Holy Word,

John the Revelator wrote it down,

I wonder how he must of felt when he saw

New Jerusalem a coming down?

Chorus 2x

BY YOUR GRACE, FOR YOUR GLORY

V1:

Where would I be, without Your love?

What kind of life would I be guilty of?

If not for Your redeeming hand,

That reached so low, to raise me up, to let me stand.

Chorus:

By Your grace and for Your glory,

I am here to tell the story,

Of all the doors You’ve opened for me,

That I might give, I might love,

I might live, by Your grace and for Your glory

V2:

Not by my strength have I survived

My reckless steps and selfish price

Not by my works of righteousness

I owe it all, to You alone, that I am blessed.

Chorus 2x

LOOK LIKE YOU

V1.

Some people say, I look a lot like you.

I know how you feel, I look like my dad too.

I’ve got your great smile, and your shoes fit my feet,

Got the same color eyes, it’s really plain to see,

I look like you. I guess you do.

When I look in the mirror I don’t always like what I see,

An imperfect man staring right back at me.

I want to be your hero, but I’m bound to make mistakes,

You need a good example, someone to imitate,

This is my prayer, it’s one we share.

Chorus:
Lord we want to look like You, Jesus,

We want to look like You.

No matter where we go, no matter what we do,

Lord we want to look like You.

V2:

Dad I hope you know, I love when people say we go together,

When it’s said and done, to look like Him is so much better.

Chorus

Bridge:

To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus, All I ask to be like Him

This is our prayer, it’s one we share.

Chorus

Lord we want to look like You.

I’LL FLY AWAY

V1:

Some glad morning when this life is o’er, I’ll fly away.

To a home on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away.

Chorus:

I’ll fly away oh glory, I’ll fly away,

When I die hallelujah by and by, I’ll fly away.

V2:

When the shadows of this life have gone, I’ll fly away

Like a bird from prison bars have flown, I’ll fly away.

V3:

Just a few more weary days and then, I’ll fly away.

To a land where joys shall never end, I’ll fly away.

Chorus 2x

Yeah, I’m gonna fly away.

I WOULD

V1:

Two little boys were staring, at the candy on display,

And one whispered to the other,

With the clerk looking away,

Just put it in your pocket, and no one will ever know,

And we’ll eat it all before we get back home.

Well that little boy just stared down at the candy on the shelf,

And you could almost hear the conversation,

He had with himself,

Then he gave the clerk a dollar, took the candy and his change,

Gave half to his buddy and explained.

Chorus:

No matter who’s watching, no matter who sees,

Jesus in my heart knows, how wrong that would be,

And when I’m home and Momma asks me, have you been good,

Though she would never know, I would.

V2:

Well little boys they grow up and temptations grow up too,

We’re living in a world that says do what you wanna do,

What they don’t know won’t hurt them, is the devil’s battle cry,

But a Godly man knows that is just a lie.

Chorus

Bridge:

The man that I am when nobody’s watching,

Is the man I really am.

Chorus

Though the world may never know, I would. Me and Jesus would.

WHERE THE SOUL NEVER DIES

V1:

To Canaan’s land I’m on my way,

Where the soul never dies.

My darkest night will turn to day,

Where the soul never dies.

Chorus:

No sad farewells, no tear-dimmed eyes,

Where all is love, and the soul never dies.

V2:

The rose is blooming there for me,

Where the soul never dies.

And I will spend eternity,

Where the soul never dies.

Chorus 2x

Where all is love and the soul never dies.
