for the Position of Regional Coordinator SHA-North

Job Summary:

Kindernothilfe e.V. (KNH) is a Non-Governmental Organisation founded in 1959. KNH works with local non-governmental organisations and their networks in 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe to realize and protect children’s rights. KNH reaches out to some 700,000 children with programmes and projects which aimed to help vulnerable and marginalized children to access sustainable opportunities to grow and to develop to their full potential. In Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxemburg KNH engages in awareness raising, education and advocacy relating to development policies and particularly to the implementation of the Child Rights Convention.

KNH supports different women focused projects as well through its partners and currently Self Help Approach (SHA) projects are being executed in Sindh and Punjab with different local NGOs.

KNH is seeking services of a qualified and experiencedcandidate (female) to fill the position of Regional Coordinator SHA – Northfor its KP and Punjab regions.As a Regional Coordinator she will be responsible to promote the Self Help Approach in KP and Punjab. She will be responsible for all projects relating to the SHA in KP and Punjab and plays the role of facilitator, trainer and coordinator. She reports to the National Coordinator Self Help Approach.

Location:Islamabad/Lahore(frequent field visits)

Reporting to:National Coordinator – SHA

Supervision to:None

Salary Scale: Competitive but negotiable based on experience, qualification & skills

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordination and strengthen SHA work in Sindh
  • Regular visits to the partners organizations
  • Organize sensitization programs/meetings as need arises at regional level
  • Trainings at regional level on the basic principal and methodology (PRA) on SHA-Approach
  • Training of Project officers and new community facilitators on SHA
  • Visit SHGs trainings by promoting organization and give vital feed back
  • Organize exposure visits of SHGs, facilitators and project officers among partners and to other organizations within the framework of SHA
  • Facilitate National Coordinator-SHG in organizing forum/meetings for partner organizations
  • Facilitate in preparing partner organizations for lobbying and advocacy
  • Prepare training materials
  • Regular communication to motivate the project officer of each promoting organization in Sindh
  • Share feedback of promoting organization with National coordinator-SHA
  • Participate and represent KNH in different workshops and seminars
  • Promote the Self Help Concept within Government structure and other civil society organizations in close coordination with National Coordinator-SHA
  1. Reporting and other duties:
  • Report to the National Coordinator-SHG and coordinate all activities in close coordination
  • Participate regularly in meetings, trainings, workshops and forums organized by KNH at National level all over working area of KNH in Pakistan
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports to the National Coordinator-SHA
  • Collecting and consolidate reports from the promoting organization in Sindh and forward to the National Coordinator-SHA
  • Report expense to National Coordinator-SHA or Country Office on monthly basis
  1. Logistics responsibility and other duties:
  • The selected candidate will be required to undertake some logistics responsibilities as well, whenever and wherever required.

Required Essentials:

  • Confidentiality - Maintain confidentiality of all information, records, communication, assets, partners, staff and plans of the organization
  • Non Criminal Record – The candidate must not have been convicted or involved in any criminal or anti-social activity.
  • Child Abuse – The candidate must not have been involved in any act against child rights and any form of child abuse.

Preferable Skills/Abilities:

  • Required qualification is MA, or MCS in any related field
  • 4-5 years of experience in development sector at the same position or similar
  • Well versed in Punjabi, Pushto, Urdu,and English (written and spoken). The fluency in other local dialects of Punjabi and Pushto will be preferred.
  • Experience of working in delicate situations
  • Highly motivated, flexible team player
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide systematic solutions in line with established policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Organized and pleasant personality
  • Willing to work extended and non-traditional hours
  • Willingness to travel as and when required locally and nationwide
