Math Enrichment, Grades 3 / Qualifying students will be clustered in a regular education classroom and receive differentiated learning opportunities. Qualifying students may also receive enrichment from a Gifted Intervention Specialists during specific scheduled times. / Students will be placed based on Math and SAI/IQ scores. Students receiving enrichment services in grade 3 will not be guaranteed a place in Math Plus or Gateway in subsequent years.
Only test scores and gifted identifications from second grade or later will be used for this placement.
Math Plus,
Grades 4 – 6 / Math Plus is a program that services those students exhibiting superior abilities in intelligence and mathematics. The curriculum for Math Plus is compacted and accelerated to meets the learning demands of the selected students. Students who complete this program are single subject accelerated in Math during their 6th grade year and take the 7th grade Math AIR test. / Has an IQ /SAI score of 122 or above

Gateway Academy, Grades 4 – 6 / Gateway Academy is a comprehensive gifted program that offers formal services in Math and English Language Arts. Students participating in the comprehensive program will also receive an enriched science and social studies curriculum through differentiated instruction. Students who complete this program are single subject accelerated in both Math and ELA during their 6th grade year and take both the 7th grade Math and ELA AIR tests. / Has an IQ/ SAI score 2 Standard Deviations above the mean (minus one standard error)

Has an IQ or SAI score 3 Standard Deviations above the mean (NAI scores from Naglieri Nonverbal will not be used for this qualifier due to the exclusion of the verbal component on this particular test)

*For students new to the district only test scores and gifted identifications earned within the previous 24 months will be used for program placement. All placements for move in students are based on space available, and students may be placed on a Waiting List if no space is available in a program for which they qualify.

All students will complete a year long Gifted Challenge Research Project. / Has an IQ or SAI score of 122 or above AND Meets ID Criteria for Specific Academic Ability in Reading/Language
Gifted English 8 as a 7th Grader / Gateway students will continue their coursework in a self- contained classroom and receive differentiated learning opportunities at their accelerated single subject grade level. All students will complete a year long Gifted Challenge Research Project. / Successful completion of Gateway Academy AND a score of Proficient or higher on the 7th Grade AIR ELA Assessment AND a has a qualified Written Acceleration Plan.
Gifted English 9 as an 8th Grader / Gateway students will continue their coursework in a self-contained classroom and received differentiated learning opportunities at their accelerated single subject grade level. Students will complete numerous novel studies in addition to extensive work with nonfiction literature. / Successful completion of Gifted English 8 AND a score of Proficient or higher on the 8th grade AIR ELA Assessment AND a has a qualified Written Acceleration Plan
Advanced Math 7/8 as a 7th Grader / Qualifying students will cover a compacted math curriculum that includes both the 7th and 8th grade math standards with the goal of preparing the students for Algebra readiness. The pace of the curriculum will be accelerated and more in-depth than the standard Math 7 course. / Has a score of the 90th percentile or higher on a STAR MATH test during 6th grade OR has a score of the 90th percentile or higher on a nationally normed math achievement test in 5th or 6th grade AND a score of Proficient or higher on the 6h grade AIR test
Algebra as a 7th Grade / Qualifying students will take Algebra for high school credit. / Successful completion of Math Plus 6 or Gateway Math 6 AND a score of Proficient or higher on the 7th grade AIR test AND a has a qualified Written Acceleration Plan
Algebra as an 8th Grader / Qualifying students will take Algebra for high school credit. / Successful completion of Advanced Math 7/8 AND a score of Proficient or higher on the 7th grade AIR test
Geometry as an 8th Grader / Qualifying students will take Geometry for high school credit. / Successful completion of Algebra AND a score of Proficient or higher on the Algebra AIR test.
Advanced Science 7/8 as a 7th Grader / Qualifying students will be responsible for meeting the content standards of both 7th and 8th grade science in one school year in a self-contained classroom. This compacted course moves at an increased pace and involves an increased workload. / A score in the 80th percentile on a nationally normed science test OR an IQ /SAI score of 122 or above.
Integrated Science as an 8th grader / Qualifying students from Advanced Science 7/8 will continue their coursework in a self-contained classroom for high school credit. / Successful completion of Advanced Science 7/8.
Advanced Placement Courses / Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States created by the College Board, which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. The AP curriculum for each of the various subjects is created for the College Board by a panel of experts and college-level educators in that field of study. For college credit, a student must earn a 3 or higher once upon enrollment in a university institution. / Students may enroll in AP classes by contacting their high school counselors.
College Credit Plus / Eligible students can take a course and earn high school and college credit that appears on both their high school and college transcripts. The course must apply to a degree or professional certificate. There is no cost for the student to participate in College Credit Plus when the student is enrolled in a public college or university. Students choosing to enroll in a participating private college or university might incur costs. / To be eligible students must meet the admission standards of the participating college or university to which they apply for enrollment. It is recommended that students interested in CCP take the ACT test in the year prior to applying for CCP.
