Tampa, FL – May, 2017 - In collaboration with JA USA and Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay, Manpower contributed $4,000 and six Manpower volunteers to JA BizTown, Junior Achievement’s experiential program for fifth grade students. On February 24th, over 100 Davis Elementary Students attended JA BizTown and on March 10th, more than 130 Schmidt Elementary and Tampa Day School students participated. On both days they were greeted and guided through the program by Manpower volunteers, assisted by JA and school district staff and other community volunteers.
Manpower volunteer Dion Dixon commented, “This was a fabulous day! I really enjoyed helping the students come up with ideas to promote their business and sale items.”
Tampa Day School Teacher Jodi Missak was impressed with the curriculum. “This is a very organized program that gave our students a taste of the corporate world. Information was very clear and detailed.”
JA BizTown is a mini “Main Street USA, consisting of 26 public and private enterprises sponsored by real world companies, where students explore the world of business and personal finance.
