If you missed the July 7 meeting, here are the details about our August 4 WGNS Meeting/Field Trip to Convergence in Milwaukee. If you weren’t at the meeting and plan to join us on August 4, please email or call Faye Ryan with your name, cell phone number, and whether you are planning to drive or take the train so we will know how many to expect at the registration desk.
Since the Guild is sponsoring the Field Trip, it will cover the cost of a Day Pass (access to the marketplace and four exhibits at the Wisconsin Center) and admission to the Milwaukee Art Museum to view the Convergence Small Expressions Exhibit. There is also a free Tapestry Exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Library. Transportation to Milwaukee will be the responsibility of the individual member. A number of members indicated an interest in taking the Amtrak train (information below). Some are also interested in forming carpools. In order to take advantage of the Day Pass purchase, you must meet at the Convergence Registration Desk at 10:15 am. Faye Ryan will then purchase passes for all those present. At that time we will also set a time to meet at the Milwaukee Art Museum to purchase admission as a group.

Convergence will be held at the Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave. Parking (for a fee) is available in a surface lot adjacent to the center at 500 W Wisconsin Ave.

#331 Hiawatha Service leaves Glenview Station, 1116 Depot Street, Glenview, at 8:47 am and arrives in Milwaukee (Downtown), 433 W. St. Paul Ave., at 10:04 am. One-way tickets are $24 (under 62) and $20.40 (62+). There are trains leaving Milwaukee at 3:37 pm, 5:32 pm, and 8:27 pm and they take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The Glenview Station does NOT have an Amtrak ticket agent anymore, so you must buy your ticket on-line www.amtrak.com. There is parking available at the Glenview Station.
