LOCAL TEACHER BECOMES NATIONAL ADVISER

OF YOUTH LEADERSHIP ORGANIZATION

Nashville, TN. – (Name) has become a National Executive Council Adviser (NECA) for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). (Name) is one of ten national advisers who will support a national officer. During the 2013-2014 school year, (he/she) will be the national adviser to (Student Name). (Student Name) was elected FCCLA National (Office) during the organization’s 2013 National Leadership Conference, held July 7-11 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The NECA will help their officers guide FCCLA members, who consist of young men and women enrolled in Family and Consumer Sciences programs. They will represent the organization at national and state conferences and other public events.

Along with nine other National Executive Council Advisers and the ten national officers, (Name) will travel to FCCLA national headquarters in Reston, Virginia, to attend program planning sessions. (He/She) will receive professional development training, discuss (his/her) responsibilities as a NECA, participate in team building exercises, and assist (his/her) national officer.

During the year (Name) will help plan the focus and content of the adult sessions at FCCLA’s National Cluster Meetings in Spoke, Washington; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Omaha, Nebraska. Additionally, they will assist national staff at the 2014National Leadership Conference, to be held July 6-10, in San Antonio, TX.
