CertainTeed Unveils New Freedom of Choice™ Facebook® Page for Siding, Decking, Railing and Fence Contractors

(Valley Forge, Pa.) – CertainTeed Corporation is bolstering its relationship with contractors by launching a dynamic Freedom of Choice™ Facebook® page featuring siding, decking, railing, fence and trim content. The new page (www.facebook.com/certainteedfreedomofchoice) will be regularly updated with practical information that can be used in daily business activities, including status updates on home exterior trends, options, industry news, tools and tips. To help get the conversation started, CertainTeed is giving a free baseball cap to the first 500 visitors to “like” the new page.

“We created the Freedom of Choice page to fully engage with our credentialed contractors and create a compelling building and remodeling online community,” says Ken Warshaw, director of marketing communications for the CertainTeed Siding Products Group. “The new page will also assist professionals with navigating our extensive selection of exterior products and styles in order to help their customers pick the right material for each unique job.”

Visitors to the CertainTeed Freedom of Choice Facebook page will also discover regular contests to win fun prizes, be able to interact with CertainTeed product and installation experts —as well as other contractors — and showcase their own successes. In addition, polls will occasionally be conducted, to ensure CertainTeed continues to offer the products, programs and services most important to contractors.

“Social media has become one of the first tools used to research buying decisions. Although the new Freedom of Choice Facebook page is mainly focused on contractors, others visiting the page will benefit from learning about products and the importance of choosing a CertainTeed credentialed contractor for remodeling projects,” added Warshaw.

As the North American leader in siding products, CertainTeed offers Freedom of Choice that no other manufacturer can provide, with the most comprehensive spectrum of profiles and colors of polymer shakes, fiber cement siding, insulated siding, vinyl siding and trim for finishing touches. The company actively pursues strategies to reduce environmental impact and is the first siding manufacturer to issue and publish third-party validated life cycle assessments (LCA) for its vinyl and fiber cement siding product lines. The LCA carefully examines all environmental impacts—from raw materials and manufacturing, to transportation and use, to disposal and/or recycling—gaining an accurate view of true product sustainability. As a result, CertainTeed is the only siding manufacturer to qualify for double credits according to the LEED product transparency credit.
