Four Performances Added of Hit Musical
A TAFFETA WEDDING
SAN JOSE, Calif. (November 5, 2009) – The Tabard Theatre Company’s world premiere production of the new retro musical A TAFFETA WEDDING is a hit with audiences and has been extended one week, Executive Director Cathy Spielberger Cassetta announced today.
“Audiences are thrilled with A Taffeta Wedding,” says Cassetta.“ They are leaving the theatre with big smiles on their faces, almost bouncing with joy. Their reaction is similar to that of the cast. They, too, are having a blast with this show, and it comes across. I’m excited we have the opportunity to add four more performances, giving people who haven’t seen this show yet a chance.”
Additional performances have been added on Thursday, Nov. 19 (8 p.m.), Friday, Nov. 20 (8 p.m.), and Saturday, Nov. 21 (3 p.m. and 8 p.m.).
A TAFFETA WEDDING is the continuation of Rick Lewis’ off-Broadway hit THE TAFFETAS and sequel to Tabard’s award-winning production of A TAFFETA CHRISTMAS. This world premiere production follows the story of America's favorite fictional singing sisters, The Taffetas, who are about to have their dreams come true on live television with a quadruple wedding to the dreamy singing quartet, The Cardigans.
The characters swoon and sway to favorite '50s and '60s pop tunes like Who’s Sorry Now, Sincerely, and Locomotion in this nostalgically fun premiere musical about gals and the guys they love.
A TAFFETA WEDDING has already earned critical reviews:
“The sisters Peggy, Kaye, Donna and Cheryl are able to weave their voices together to create a strong four-part harmony.” (Metro)
“As wholesome as wholesome can be, with the emphasis on being just plain entertaining.” (Campbell Express)
“A Taffeta Wedding performed its world premiere to a packed audience …, and they did not disappoint. The show is absolutely adorable, and my cheeks still hurt from smiling and laughing so much! … Do not miss A Taffeta Wedding. It’s a wonderful show, and I’m sure it will continue to have audiences responding with standing ovations.” (Examiner.com)
“I cannot remember when I have enjoyed anything more …! The performers were fantastic - I wanted to get up and dance with them by the end! If you want a fun, clean and refreshing experience - something you can safely take anyone to see...this is it!” (Artsopolis)
“LOVED this show! What a great way to remember such wonderful songs from the fifties and sixties! The cast is so talented. And the harmonies are beautiful. A wonderful walk down memory lane!! We're going back before it closes!” (Artsopolis)
