Kids creating for CASA: Summit County students present 100 works of art at #ArtyPartyAkron
Second annual fundraising event on June 9 to benefit Summit County CASA/GAL

AKRON, OH – The second annual #ArtyPartyAkron, an art auction and fundraiser to benefit Summit County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA), is scheduled for June 9. The event, sponsored by Signet Jewelers, will be held at Akrona Galleries, 1765 W. Market St. from 6-9 p.m.

This fundraising event is a juried art show featuring one-of-a-kind art pieces created by area students from preschool through college. Judges include Leandra Drumm, art educator Joanna Haag and Jessica Pinsky, executive director of Praxis Fiber Workshop. Awards will be given in the categories of preschool-2nd grade; grades 3-5; grades 6-8; high school; college and overall best in show. A new category in 2016 is for Teachers Who Create. All students who have pieces chosen will be given a token of appreciation.

“The quality of art that was submitted for this year’s event was amazing,” said Amanda Carroll, #ArtyPartyAkron chairperson. It made it very difficult for the selection committee to narrow it down to 100 pieces.”

The art is professionally framed and display-ready thanks to the generous donation of time and materials by Akrona Galleries, Gallery of Framing, Hazel Tree Interiors and McKay Bricker Gallery Framing.

Tickets are available online through Eventbrite for $50 per person. Visit or contact Amanda Carroll (330) 310-6529 for more information. Thirty dollars of the ticket price is tax deductible.

One hundred percent of all proceeds go directly to the CASA/GAL Program of Summit County. Signet Jewelers has generously pledged to match any gift, up to a total maximum donation of $15,000.
