James L. Cook Named
to GAMA Foundation Board of Trustees

Falls Church, VA – James L. Cook, ChFC, CFS, has been named to the Board of Trustees for the GAMA Foundation for Education and Research.

Cook, a CEO with National Financial Services Group, has run the firm in Atlanta, GA for 15 years and is actively involved in supporting local community activities, including the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Toys for Tots Program and United Way.

The GAMA Foundation funds research studies that identify the best leadership and management practices of field leaders in insurance and financial services, which it then turns into educational resources and programs. Its work is funded through the donations of individual field leaders such as Cook, who invest in the Foundation to improve their business practices and to elevate the performance of the industry overall.

As a Trustee, Cook will serve with a select group of industry leaders responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of the GAMA Foundation. Trustees promote the mission of the Foundation, assist in its fundraising, run committees, and offer ongoing communication and education about the GAMA Foundation’s value and resources.

“Jim Cook is the type of person you always want on your board,” says GAMA Foundation CEO Kathryn L. Kellam, FLMI. “He is dedicated, focused, and devoted to what matters most in our industry. The GAMA Foundation is extremely fortunate to have Jim as the Trustee in charge of the Outreach Committee, and we all look forward to working closely with him to help the industry better serve its clients in the years ahead.”

Since 1990, the GAMA Foundation has produced more than 20 world-class research and educational projects and programs on a wide variety of topics critical to leadership success. Cook’s commitment and support will enable the GAMA Foundation for Education and Research to continue to fund groundbreaking research that enhances the productivity and effectiveness of field leaders.
