BELLARMINE-JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL’S CLASS OF 2015 GRADUATES AT

THE CATHEDRAL OF OUR LADY OF THE ANGELS

BURBANK, CALIFORNIA, MAY 23, 2015—Bellarmine-Jefferson High School proudly graduated 36 young men and women at its commencement exercises during a mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Saturday, May 23, at 12:20 p.m.

The school’s 2015 Valedictorian, Kayla Guzman, gave an address to her follow graduates. And Salutatorian, Cindy Castillo, also addressed the crowd.

The Bellarmine-Jefferson High School Class of 2015 received a number honors and scholarship recognitions at a Baccalaureate Ceremony on Thursday, May 21, held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, as well as at their final Awards Assembly as Bell-Jeff students earlier in the day. The following students received honors and scholarships: The Good Citizen Memorial Scholarship in memory of Bellarmine-Jefferson High School 2002 graduate Daniel Eric Diaz: John Anulat and Adriel Jourdan Navarro; Marian L. Garcia Memorial Scholarship awarded to the student who gives freely of his time and energy in service to the community and attempts to make each person feel better about them: Emely Arrue; Letty Cabrera Memorial Scholarship awarded to a girls varsity volleyball player: Clarissa Cabrera; Imago Dei Scholarship is the highest award given by Bellarmine-Jefferson High School to a graduating senior established by the school’s founder Monsignor Keating based on loyal service and scholastic achievement: Alexis Lopez.

In addition, 15 Bellarmine-Jefferson High School seniors received the President’s Education Awards for Outstanding Academic Excellence and three for Outstanding Educational Achievement. Thirteen also became National Honors Society Lifetime Members, two became life members of the California Scholarship Federation and seven received the most distinguished award from the California Scholarship Federation for high scholarship achievement of the entire six semesters of the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. In addition, six students graduated Cum Laude, five Magna Cum Laude and six Summa Cum Laude.

Finally, the Class of 2015 was accepted to many colleges and universities across the country and received countless scholarships and honors from their schools of choice, including: Arizona State University; University of Arizona; University of California at Santa Barbara, Irvine, Davis, Riverside, Santa Cruz, ; California State Universities at Channel Islands, Chico, Humboldt, Northridge, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco and San Jose; California Lutheran University; Catholic University of America; Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo; Azusa Pacific University; Chicago State University; University of Great Falls; University of Maine at Farmington;
