As a reminder of the UK Employer’s obligations under the Terms & Conditions of the Tier 5 Intern scheme, we remind you of the following key documents/reporting required of the Employer:

RECORD KEEPING OBLIGATIONS SUMMARY

ON ARRIVAL: Certified copies of the Employer’s “right to work” checks, i.e. copies of the Intern’s original passport including the biometricdetails page(s) and the visa

ON ARRIVAL: Completed intern UK Contact Details form template

ON ARRIVAL: Signed copies of the intern’s contract or assignment letter

DURING THE INTERNSHIP (MONTHLY): Copies of the intern’s payslips to evidence that their role is salaried

DURING THE INTERNSHIP: Updated copies of the intern’s UK Contact Details form if the intern moves during their internship

AT THE END OF THE INTERNSHIP: Confirmation of the intern’s end date and details of their onward travel booking

AT THE END OF THE INTERNSHIP: Copies of the intern’s P45 and final payslips

REPORTING OBLIGATIONS SUMMARY:

If there are any significant changes in the intern’s circumstances, e.g. changes in remuneration, dates of employment, job role, or work location.

If the intern is absent from work without approval or prior agreement for any reason.

If the intern is absent from work without approval for 10 days, or more.

If you have any reason to believe that the intern is in breach of the conditions of their Leave (from the Home Office)

If you have any reason to believe that the intern is engaged in terrorism or criminal activity

If you have any reason to suspect that the intern does not intend to exit the UK on expiry of his Leave in the UK

If you have any reason to believe that the intern has not left the UK upon expiry of their visa.
